Realisticly, no it usually doesn't workout. I'm not saying it's not impossible. There has been successful long distance relationships, but many many long distance relationships do not work out. The reason is you long to be together, you want to hold each other, kiss each other, make love to each other, just be there for each other and it's not possible. How long can one continue to live like that? Not too many.
But for those that do, well they were the lucky ones. I guess it depends on how much patients you two have. I wish you much luck. I've been there twice.

Well me and my husband dated for 3 years and he lived 2 and 1/2 hours from each other. Make a long story short we just celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary. If the love and trust is there then you can do it.

No, they don't usually work out...being apart and rarely getting to see each other puts a HUGE strain on a relationship...the couple has no chance to get to know each other (if it's a new relationship) and chances of losing interest are high...

I've been there...don't care to do it again...if I can't see him at least several times a month, then I'm not interested...

Long distance relationship never works. It conceals the true colour of the whole point of the bloody relationship.

is it ok, yes, for some people, is it neccessarily healthy? i would tend to say no, the reason for that is because you get attached emotionally to someone but then when you need someone to be around you when something happens or you need that physical part of it, there usually tends to be the temptation to find someone that is standing right there but then again there are alot of depths to love and as emily dickenson once said: no distance of place or lapse of time can lessen the realationship of those who are thoroughly convinced of each others worth...

If you have really love that person, and really trust each other than it should work out, if your young it will be hard because you may not see each other for a while, but if you are older, you can look forward to seeing them.
