Is nuclear Apocalypse just nonsense?

Lot a people say WWIII could send us back to the dark ages. Is that plausible? I mean there's over 6 billion people on earth. We're growing at an exponential rate.

The W.H.O. has estimated that 1.1 billion people will be killed in the first thirty minutes of a full-scale nuclear exchange, mostly in the US, Europe, Russia, China and Japan. Another 1 billion would die soon after from radiation poisoning. The entire northern hemisphere would be plunged into prolonged agony and barbarity.

Eventually, the Nuclear Winter would spread to the southern hemisphere killing all plant and animal life. The threshold for nuclear winter is very low, Carl Sagan estimate a blast of 100 megatons would generate a nuclear winter on a global scale.

Those that survive will be in deep shelters, who had enough water, clean filtered air and food to outlast the nuclear winter.....two years or more.

So you ask, is nuclear Apocolypse nonsense, i'd say nuclear war is global suicide.

Nuclear war would not car how fast we are growing. and the planets population is growing too fast.
Education and technically has gotten to the point in which soon many small time dictators like Chevas and Castro, and Islamic Fruit cakes like Mohammed willnotonly be able to make them but use them.
To top it off we have our own home grown fruit cakes (in my personal opinion) like bill fisk who actually thinks we can deal with the terroist by inviting them our lives. and inviting themintothe governmet of Afsganistan or Iraq.

Why would it be nonsense? All life on this planet will eventually be destroyed, whether it be by the natural cycle of the sun eating us up or if we nuke it ourselves. Most of the world isn't as efficient as Japan. They got over 2 atom bombs, but I can't imagine other countries getting over much stronger ones. People kill themselves, so why can't a whole planet?

It would depend on who got involved... I don't think that there's any danger of that though, Boris Yeltsin was drunk half the time, and he never used his nukes. Pakistan is controlled by Islamic Fundies who according to the Republicans are the most likely to use nukes... Israel has nukes and they're constantly at war, plus they defy UN rulings all the time... We aren't in danger of nuclear war...

why worry about nukes when many worse types of warfare such as biological, or chemical. there is also a bomb called an E-bomb that shuts down all electrical sources that would leave us open to any number of attacks.

Yes it is possible. Many say that the U.S can simply destroy an enemy so easily by just sending a few bombs but the terrorists will spread. It will not be a conventional war like Japan in the 40,s but a gurrilla battle all over the world. Sure here are stealth technology but seriosly think of the possibility of terrorists spreadin everywhere to the point when nukes cannot stop them. People like Kim Jong Il do not care for their people they want a nuclear atack they dared the U.S to do it before.

U.S tries to put sanctions on Iran in 2006-07 but
it will not pass. George W. Bush cannot strike on iran because
of his already unpopular status. In 2012 Iran will have had its nuclier weapon (the iranian president said sanctions will not stop them and that they want Israel destroyed) so in 2012 the world will be horrified with them having the weapon. All of the U.S allies
(Germany, UK, France etc) will strike Iran. They will dock naval
ships on the sea between Saudi Arabia and Iran and launch
Airstrikes all over Iran. Iran will fight with all of its might. Unlike Iraq
eveyone dislikes America and they are certainly capable.
The U.S will send their entire navy in the attampt to
destroy the bombs and the facility. It takes a lot of work to get the missile to the launch pad. 1/4 of the Iranian Airforce will be crippled in 1 month of desperate fighting.Oil will not be used for
Civilian purpouse any longer as the military will need it more
importantly. Nato countries will push North to Tehran.
Iran will put up a good fight but the U.S will get quite far.
despite Airstrikes the weapons are underground and in unidentified areas. So the land trops will have to come and destroy the Iranian land forces. By now Iran will have tried to
attack south Arabia in an attempt to disrupt oil shipment.
Most of the Iranian military will be crippled and few rebels are left.
Now Iran may have 4 Nuclier bombs. Those bombs will also be modified into missiles by now. The NATO countries will furiosly
bombard Iran in the attempt. More then 100,000 Iranian troops would have been killed at this point. More than 20,000
NATO troops. The actual War will flare when Iran succesfully
launches the bomb at Israel their goal. Iran is filled with
mountainous terrian and only half of their small nuclier
stronghold would have been succesfully destroyed by America.
Although American fighter planes will destroy many while the bombs are going toward Israel. But 2-3 may have actually hit israel. Israel has in position a few nukes from America. 10-20
is the estimate. Israel will definatly respond by unleashing
an arsenal of nukes. This will destroy major cities in Iran.
This is when WW3 will begin. The U.S will also nuke Iran.
Venezuala will cease oil for America. They will side with Iran.
Terrorists (thousands and thousands of them under Iranian control) will spread all over the world. They will be intent on
causing as much trouble for the U.S as possible. They
will even make a few succesfull hits on American soil barely
or with little success. Small Islamic nations like Turkey and
Syria allies of Iran will unleash terrorists.The NATO countries will
also try to invade their government to contain terrorists but they will unleash their own military against America. Trade markets will collapse world wide. North Korea who already praise
Iran and want the west destroyed will seek their oppurtunity.
They will now attempt to invade south Korea since the U.S has bigger problems at hand. They will then prove to the world about
their nuclier arsenal. Defending South Korea the U.S and Japan will indeed bomb the North. I don;t think it will happen but
there is a 70% chance NK will get involved.
NK will send their missiles to the South. Some may be nuclier.
This could mean the U.S will have to draft civilians to
defend South Korea. Venezuala will side with Iran and South Korea and use their oil to torment the U.S The middle east is a waste land b this point. Even the U.S coasts will be filled with naval ships. But the nuclier holacaust has not begun quite yet
even if a few million have died already in the past 2 years of WW3. Russia and China are will still supply Iranian terrorists and
Irans fallen government for oil. Russia and China will supply weapons. Terrorists from all over will be trying to destroy Israel.
Few nations like India will have not participated in the whole thing.
But ofcourse Pakistan will seek the oppurtunity to invade India. They will nuke India. India with permission from America may already have far more than Pakistan. India will be severely damgaged but they will have victory over Pakistan after a tough battle with nukes and ground war but India will for the first time invade another country. They will capture pakistan. They
will unleash their arsenal and Indias personal battle is won.
Now all they do is defend themselves from terrorists and clear out Pakistani militia. They will restablish themselves. As
for the U.S kids will not go to school they will pick metal waste for tanks. Some minors will be drafted at 15 (Im 13 lol). The
U.S will be like a military fort just like India. The whole world be under battle. Terrorists will be everywhere. The remaining areas such as America will be refugee camps. Russia and China will still supply weapons to terrorists. Thus terrorists will be strong.
Now America and NATO countries will have to destroy their
supplies. Already the sky is red and pollution and disease spreads out from chemical weapons and such. NATO cannot
risk terrorists getting weapons from Russia and China.
They will have to strike them. Thus the most powerfull on Earth
will settle the score. Terrorists will spread out awkwards. China
cannot attack India for Pakistans defeat because they will be fending of the NATO. No where on Earth is safe now. China
will support Iran and all terrorists for the
powerfull status on Earthand also to get the oil to keep their economy running as massive oil trades are made for Iran and terrorists as well as the fact that transfer of weapons cannot end and Russia will support them because of a never ending rivalry against America and also because the Middle East will give oil for weapons and to keep their country functioning they will trade weapons. Now nuclear bombs from all over will collide and no place will be safe. Russia can make 150,000 within 2 years. Mankind will be in ashes and rubble. 2.5 billion will die according to facts. Cities which once resembled power will be rubble and terrorists will wreck havoc on refugees. Then religious proficies will take place. The second coming, Kalki etc will appear and mankind will be restablished.
I cant really get what happens later. 1000 years of peace or something. But as you saw in such a battle nukes would not be focused on 1 area.rather everywhere. But mankind will learn from it. Now U.S will relize the true face of war not just a game when weak countries with small defences are destroyed with superior stealth but a battle in which kids at 15 can be drafted. Its true that the population is rising fast but chemicals and anthrax
around the world will stop repopulation.Small colonies of man will
settle and once again mankind will relize the truth of their existance. All this seems impossible but just think dude I mean just one nuke from Iran and its over. A single nuclear attack on Israel and attacks on Iran and terrorists spread everywhere.
