WHAT ARE THE POLES IN THERE FRONT YARDS FOR??

We just finished Sukkot. During Sukkot we put up a Sukkah which is a temporary dwelling where we live during that week.

So perhaps the poles were used to hold up the walls of the Sukkah.

there aren't poles in jew's front yards...maybe its that paticular person? Or the way the house was built...
