My home theatre system consists of a center speaker, 2 fronts, 2 rears and a subwoofer. Everything worked fine, then I unplugged everything to paint the house. When I hooked it all back up the subwoofer no longer made sound. It is self powered and it does power on, however, it makes no sound. The cable is secure in the correct input jack on the sub and output jack on the receiver. Any ideas?

Does you subwoofer have a fuse? You may have had a transient signal into your sub when disconnecting or reconnecting. Since you unplugged everything, perhaps your receiver setup has changed and doesn't see the subwoofer.

recheck your system settings. many receivers need to have the subwoofer output turned on.
