DEFINITELY go to a psychiatrist. Sometimes it is the hardest thing to admit you need help, but it is well worth it. Everyone has something going on in their lives, just because you have O.C.D it doesn't mean that you are weird, or that you're not an awesome person! I have O.C.D, everything has to be symmetrical. If it's not, I obsess about it, and spend hours fixing things.

There are certain types of therapy and medications that can really help. Make sure you have your parents support.

Good luck!

Hi Kasin,
I am bipolar and I sort of know how ocd could mess up daily life. I go to MHMR in Bryan Texas. I am 53. I started attending groups where there were other people who are bipolar and I have gotten a lot of insight into my illness. I have learned how other people try and cope and measures and things they do to help in their daily living. One of the things that has helped me is a journal. I don't just sit down once a day and write in it , I jot down things that are happening all through the day. I eill read it the next morning and see where things could be changed for the better. What to do , what not to do, what upset or made me sad or happy. Yours would be alittle bit different I am sure but you might try it . Also have your parents call MHMR and they will have times and lacations of groups or at least phone numbers you can call and going to groups with other young people in your situation will help. It is terrible to be alone in something like that. I have a little thing I do like counting how many ice cubes in my glass(always 7) and I count 11 counts when I am filling up my sugar bowl, it takes 35 counts to scramble my egg. Just little things like that .Well there are quite afew and they are not so little really. I hope you find the answer you need in the answers you will get on this site. Jesus loves you. Theresa

Get over to a psychiatrist that specialises in o.c.d. If you do not know of any, ask a nurse. They know who is good. There are effective medications for O.C.D.
Good luck,
Doc. Dan.

Talk to your folks. If it's that severe, you should be seeing a psychiatrist who will help you work it out, and may be able to prescribe medication to help. If your folks won't do anything, talk with a trusted teacher or your counselor at school.
