First it depends on what the rules are at wherever you work.
For me, if its just "I dont want to get up", I just get up. If I feel really sick and have to leave early, I'll try for part of the day.
If I physically cannot get out of bed, I know its a sign that there is no way I can get to work.

A majority of the time if I'm a little under the weather I'll go ahead and go in to work. Usually I will stay home if I am so sick that I get tired going from the bed to the bathroom.

The problem with going to work when you are sick is that other people will get sick. Some people may have medical problems and shouldn't be around sick people so you really need to think before you go.

I work in a hospital. If I have a cold I can't work because all of our heart transplants immune systems are down. Plus other patients can't afford to catch a cold. Other than that I go to work. I work at night. My husband works in the day on the farm.

I guess that depends on how bad you want the paycheck. Or of course how much money you will loose for not showing up. But 'kind of sick" dosen't really work to well.

If I can't get up in the morning - then I'll stay home. If I have no trouble waking up on time, then I'll go to work.
