My daughter just graduated from Navy Basic Training. I might say the transformation blew me away. She made it through, it was tough, and now she is very motivated to succeed in A-school.
I know the possibility is good that she might be deployed to Iraq, and I am scared to death of the thought. I know I shouldn't borrow trouble (as my mom used to say), and I want to show her support in every way I can. I don't want to show my fear or worry of her going, if the time ever comes. Anyone else have thoughts to share? I would love to hear from you. We could keep a parental circle going and keep in touch, exchange emails for support and friendship. Email me @ m_a_minnoe@hotmail.com
Thank you, and God bless our children and our country!

You must be very proud and you should be. The most important thing is to give her all the support and love you can. Tell her how proud you are. I firmly believe that everyone has a time.

45,000 thousand people a year die in traffic accidents and thousands more in other mindless accidents. She has chosen to serve her country. She has grown up, become mature, responsible and will have that can do attitude, it will be with her the rest of her life. Most retired or former military personnel
succeed beyond their own preconceptions.

She sounds like a wonderful person. God bless her you and our Country.

Well I can only wish you and your family the best of luck, may god bless you and keep a watchfull eye over your daughter. i will keep you in my prayers. I know the feeling of having family deployed in Iraq. I just thank God to have them back. I wish you the same. You have every right to be so proud. I wish you all the best of luck. God Bless you!

i also very much admire the fact that you want to start a support group. Not everyone has the support they need to feel strong, or know anyone to talk to when their loved ones are sent away. So once Again I wish you the best of luck. More power to ya. & God Bless.

I also pray that all of the young MEN AND WOMEN in the service of our country come through this and someday look back and say it was all worth it. I also am a vet. (Korean War) I now am 76 and know what they are going through, the best I can tell you is to keep praying and give the boys and girls all the support you can, it's very hard to do a job when there is someone who wants to be critical, thats what gets to you first, the good stufff gets to you last. Have faith and good luck.

Congratulations.

I am not sure what your daughter's MOS is but I have a friend in the Navy and he went over seas but was on a ship the whole time. So there wasn't too much to worry about.

Though still dangerous, women are typically deployed in a support capacity that lessens their risk. Good luck !!

Don't worry over something that may never take place. It'll just take a toll on you. Pray every night and keep happy.
