...to hear adults talk about a tree of knowledge, about a talking snake, about an ark that saved all the animals on the planet, about a guy walking on water, water turning into fish, a virgin-mama, etc like it's something that really happened??
i mean, when kids reads sweet stories and completely miss the metaphores, it always strikes me as sweet. i never realized that when adults do the same it really feels like something completely cute to me.

When did water turn into fish? I've heard of and believe in the other things you mention but water into fish? Never heard of it.

Cute in a child yes, but in adults the consequences of stunted intellectual and emotion maturity are often very ugly. Maybe that is why religions seem so prone to violence; because that is a childlike response to things that cannot be controlled.

It's cute when kids do it. I'm not sure about adults.

No, it's not nearly as cute as someone who professes to be an adult but shows their immaturity by being condescending.

Childlike, I believe is the term. God wants us to be childlike and not fact driven adults; good old faith.
Kids believe things easily; adults can too; just got to trust and try.

I wish I could just see it as cute. I see it as annoyingly ignorant. Perhaps I'll try to relax and just think "cute, cuddly, silly."
