The obvious is either the Ignition coil, or lack of fuel. Also check to make sure that all of the sensors are working..................
(use a multimeter), check the O2 sensor, MAF sensor, TPS, KS, CPS, CIA, NSA, FBI, ATF, DEA, KGB..... J/K, starting at CIA. hahaha
I doubt it is the fuel system, but if the fuel is old or there is no fuel, that could cause the no start condition.
It is probably the ignition coil, or the coil packs (i don't know which one you suv has), or consider that it might be flooding with fuel......Check the oil level too...

A gasoline engine requires three things to run! One being fuel, second being air, the third spark. If you have all three it has to run. So start checking each one because somewhere you are lacking one of the three! That year vehicle should allow you to access trouble codes either within it's own capability or you can purchase a scanner for about $50 that will be good enough to troubleshoot the codes for you. But if you check for the three required necessities for a gasoline engine to run I think you will be able to solve your problem!
Air is pretty obvious just check for obstruction in the intake area. Fuel has to be fuel pump, fuel filter, or within the injection system that will require expert diagnostics. Spark will be either faulty cap and rotor, ICM, coil, ignition timing, electrical problem, or incorrect wire placement.

does it lack fuel or spark?if fuel is not present check fuel pump relay,if it's ok smack fuel tank hard and maybe you can get fuel pump to fire back up.if there is no spark check coil and distribtor, which would be the crank sensor,i do beleive if you got power going in and nada coming out you probably have a defective dist.

You should have a better diagnosis. What engine? Do you have spark? If not, it could be the coil pack. Is it getting fuel? If not, it could be the fuel pump or plugged fuel filter.

i own a repair shop, and i wonder have you checked to see if its getting any fire to it, if it is, id check and make sure it is getting gas,if its getting gas and fire ,you need to start looking for anything that could have gotten knocked loose on it or something that might be off of it,,also check the timing on it,, if all this fails you may have to have to take to a real good mechanic.because if its getting gas and fire it should run,i might be able to help more once you find this stuff out, good luck i hope this help,s.
