No. Voudoun (commonly known as "Voodoo") is an ancient religion that synchronizes ancient Yoruban (a tribe in Africa) beliefs and practices with Catholic prayers and imagery. While it is true that there are certain practices in Voodoo that are coined "black magic" (known as "Palo Mayombe") as well as myriad dieties which are associated with death and its related imagery (such as the "Gede" family of which "Baron Samedi" is the head) there is no record of a "Satan" or "Lucifer" in traditional Voudoun. Hollywood, ignorance, and religious prejudice are the reasons for the whole "Voodoo is Satanism" assumption.

No. Satanism branched off of Christianity. The idea of Satan is Christian. You don't need any Christian beliefs to support voodoo.

No, I would not say that. Of course it does have a lot of occult elements, and fundamentalist Christians attribute anything to do with the occult to Satan. Some even say any religion besides their own is false and satanic. Then there are those who say that all religion is superstitious nonsense. In the end, it is up to the idividual to decide what to believe and accept. But my own opinion is that Voudoo has nothing to do with worshipping Satan, satanism.

Voudoun is an ancient African religion that when it came to the States via the slave trade incorporated christian symbology. There is no 'DEVIL' or 'SATAN' worship. The call upon their own personal spirits or gods. Unlike Judeo/Christian/Islamic faith, it is not a religion of duality, not god of evil to go against the god of good.
Voodoo gets a bad rap because of Hollywood.

No. Voudoun is one of a family of syncretistic Afro-Caribbean faiths, including Santería and Lucumí, which blend Catholicism with indigenous west African religions -- notably the Ifa religion of the Yoruba people. In these religions, the "orishas" (goddesses and gods) of the Yoruba (called "loas" in Voudoun) are assimilated to particular Catholic saints. Originally this was simply a strategy of deception so that slaves could continue to practice their traditional religion.

It's not satanism- but it is anti Christian. People who practice voodoo- believe the people do not have a free will of their own.

No, voodoo is its own religion--a fusion of African tradition and a heavy Catholic influence. Pretty darn interesting stuff.
