Go to the ASPCA or SPCA in your city, to consider adopting a homeless dog. The dog will be most appreciative of having a forever home. If the don't have the breed you want, you should periodically call and ask what they have.

A homeless dog needs a home, please help.

I agree with JDJ. Check the shelters first. Ive volunteered in shelters before and you'd be surprised as to how many yorkies and chihuahuas they get in. Good luck in your search, but remeber if you are going to buy one, dont go to a pet store find a reputable breeder that offers a health guarentee and certificate and shows a pedigree. also ask to see the parents if possible and for proof of medical testing. immediately take your dog to the vet afterwards for an exam, any abnormalities, call the breeder

Shih-tzu! Honestly, they've got THE best personality, and they are wonderful apartment dogs. Also, not yippers like most little dogs. Very smart, also.
