I had diarrhea and held it in for almost an hour and a half. Towards the end I started getting all sweaty and itchy and my eyes turned red and looked funny. After I relieved myself I got VERY itchy and my whole body turned red with hives.

Diarrhea happens when your body needs to get rid of something right away. Having it remain in your body combined with the straining to avoid moving it out certainly was not a good idea. I am guessing that the thing that caused the diarrhea might have caused these other symptoms. Get to a doctor to rule out toxic shock syndrome or other serious reactions.

I've never heard of getting an allergic reaction from holding a bowel movement too long chances are your diarrhea was the start of an allergic reaction to something and the other symptoms just didn't start until later. You shouldn't hold your bowel movements though cause you can get hemorrhoids doing that.

No; this isn't an allergic reaction. Remember, feces is filled with toxins & waste the body has no need for. Holding it in may have allowed some of the toxins to build up in you, & this may have been what caused the reaction when you finally passed it. Notice you're fine afterwards; right?

I wouldn't think so but it can't be too good for your anal tract and intestines. I bet you had a huge stomach ache. You must of been sick with something already and the diarrhea was just part of it.

Well I guess you won't be doing that again...

I have no idea?...how you even managed to hold it that long.

Yes it would seem you have made yourself unwell...I would seek out a doctor, and see what can be done.

Before you do have long shower cool water...see it that helps.
all the best.
