I am a 24 year old man with lust problem. I have been that way since 16. It is very frustrating, depressing to go through it because it bothers me every day.
The problem I want to consult is about adult magazines in bookstore. I like going to bookstore to read. Whenever I go there, I pass by the shelf that contains full of adult magazines which is full of Playboy, Penthouse, Maxim, FHM, etc. I am sure it is hard to resist for a lot of men. It is extra harder for a guy with lust problem like me.
The women on the cover look so hot, sexy, attractive that I just want to pick up the magazine and look through the centerfolds. One side of my mind says it is normal and ok to look at such photos. Ther other side says I should stay away from them which add fuels to my lust, fantasy problems.
I need ur supports on this critical problem of mine. The goal is clear. I wanna be a man of sexual integrity. But the road is so narrow, full of obstacles and challenges. Can you give me advice?

i'll try to answer this without being a wise-****.

first of all, looking at that stuff is completely normal. its ok, and not a big deal. the problem with pornography is when it affects your life in a negative way. such as you don't pay attention to your girlfriend/wife because you are obsessed about these porn stars/models/amateurs/housewifes/girls-next-door. (that'll be my wise-crack. gotta let those out.)

so advice point #1 - is it affecting your job, relationships, etc.? if so, then stop or get some help. and be VERY honest with yourself when assessing if it is interfereing with your life. i imagine that the people who's lives are being ruined by it will never admit that it is.

#2 - i'm not sure why you are doing this in bookstores, but maybe you could get a subscription or look it up on the internet(FREE!!!). then if you see it more often, you won't be so obsessed with it. of course, sometimes seeing more will lead you to bigger and better thrills, which can lead to some nasty stuff. so if you don't think you can stick with just the playboy centerfolds, answer #2 might not be for you.

Aww bless.. listen I was going to give a smart **** answer then.. but decided that it wouldn't be right to do that.

Firstly.. you are young. Hormones raging etc.. how do you make a hormone.. don't pay her.. .. sorry couldn't resist..

I don't think there is anything wrong with porn as long as it's just that.. none of the animal thing or anything to do with children..or unconsenting people.. or anything that is bad in the far east.

So read them.. one day you will find a girlfriend.. love each other and do lots together.. and you won't need to look anymore and if you do.. well just tell your girl you do..so she doesn't get upset.

I wish you well.. I feel that you are a man of sexual integrity as you are asking perfect strangers this question.

I have a husband of 10 years with the same problem. To be honest he gave it all up about 5 years ago. I told him Jesus said if you lust after another while married goudge your left eye out. My husband lost his sight out of his right eye shortly after i caught him on porn sites in the pc. He got a nail in his eye at work. That fixed him because he is a christian man too. You have to pray for help and God will do the rest for you. Stay away from the stores ans the aisles with the books. It will get eaisier with time.Lust is wrong because it leads to other things such as greed for more. I will keep you in my prayers . God bless you for the effort to change. God will see you are trying and he will help you only if you ask it.

Just don't buy them.
Throw out all of your existing porn.
Just stay away from temptation.
Try getting a hobby instead of jerking off.
Go out for a run or a bike ride, get out, work off the frustration, don't just sit home like a perv.

Maybe get a girlfriend. Stay away from anything porn related and try to concentrate on other activities and interests.\

Ok, I had a feeling. Are you a Christian dude?

Don't feel guilty. It's natural, we are in a very stimulating society. It's not a "sin", don't make yourself feel like a demon possessed lust ridden sinner.
The advice is still the same as I originally posted.
And the cure is NOT that magazines should be taken off of all store shelves.
This is the world we live in. Be happy you're even alive.
And another thing, It bothers you every day?
You go to the bookstore every day and HAVE to run to the sexy gal mag section?
I find that hard to believe.--And how can you thumb through dirty mags in a bookstore? that makes no sense, they are sealed in plastic, you have to buy them. Isn't it unchristian to lie?
If you are just a Christian who is upset about sexy girls gracing the covers of magazines, you just have to deal.
Gals won't all dress like Barbara Bush because you don't like "temptation".
Not everyone believes in your spirits of evil sexiness. Most people think it's all hogwash quite literally and they are probably right.
You like Capitalism right?
Well sex sells.
This is America. DEAL...

Train your eyes not to look in the direction of those magazines. The layouts of most bookstores rarely change - so avoid the section all together.

Tell yourself mentally that you do not need to look at those images. If the magazines are toward the front of the store, walk as quickly through the section as possible. Keep your eyes out in front of you and don't look to the sides. Or just look at the floor as you move passed - whichever is more natural.

Here is some advice, Stop being such a p*ssy. It is natural for a man to "lust" after women. In fact, men are programmed to mate with every avaliable female. It is up to your higher brain functions to stop yourself. Looking at centerfolds is not a lust problem it is your natural instincts coming out. You need to stop listening to those freaks in church, and get yourself some good p*ssy. That will calm you down.

that's really a problem u shudn't be so worried about. find ur own woman to turn u on. She'll be rit there for u to touch, u dont have to look at women that u cant have a fantasy with, u can have a gurl u no, and u can feel her being there next to u, its a lot more satisfying than looking at something u cant get to. Other ppl cant fix the problems they have that easy, take advantage of the freedom u have.

Well first you should ask yourself if you are avoiding things in your life via the use of porn. For example - are you avoiding making friendships and/or dating? Avoiding dealing with some pain of childhood abuse or neglect? Answer these questions seriously - perhaps work with a professional. And then get focused on meeting the challenges in your life rather than avoiding them via an easy route like porn. Make sure that porn doesn't rip you off from living your life fully.

Jesus said if your right hand offends you, cut it off. Now he didn't mean this literally...but....if you really want to stop looking at porn, you need to ask yourself how devoted you are to getting this smut out of your life. Do you really want to? Then (a) stop going into bookstores (b) don't have any cable TV stations on your TV (c) get rid of your computer or have someone install a block on it so that you canNOT get to porn sites.

This is very serious. You need to take serious steps to stop this. Are you a Christian? Pray to God to help you...but you need to root out the places where you go and access this stuff.

Anything that affects your life and the people in it, or hurts your standard of living, is a problem. Be it alcohol, drugs, gambling or sex.

Put the books away. Busy yourself in productive activities. Stay away from the porn sites and magazines.

If that doesn't help - get help.
