My fiance and I are looking for memorable but affordable honeymoon ideas. We know for sure we want to go somewhere warm :) Where can we get the best value for our bucks? We've checked out Fiji and like the idea of going someplace we both haven't been, but it gets rather pricey, plus Jan/Feb is the "wet" season over there. Would it be worth it? Or maybe Maui would be a better choice. We're still undecided, any ideas would be most welcome. Thanks in advance!

Boracay Island in the Aklan province, Philippines. January and February are great months to visit and enjoy the culture, and the white powdery sand of Boracay!

There are several places to Honeymoon. There are also several factors to consider when looking for a Honeymoon Destination. If you are wanting to go somewhere warm the Caribbean, Mexico, Tahiti, Fiji, Costa Rica, Belize Hawaii, etc. There are many places that you could look at it. The only thing is, people here could recommend, however doesn't mean this will be right for YOUR Honeymoon. A few questions and I could determine where I felt was best for you.

There is so much more I want to type, but honestly right now I'm typing with one hand due to my shoulder in a sling.

Email me if you like and I would be happy to help you with this. From there I could send you my contact info.

P.S. Don't go to the Bahamas in Jan or Feb as another said. It can be a little cooler than expected for a "warm" vacation. Better to go here if you do in the middle of March - May.

My vote is to go to the Island of St. Martin in the French West Indies and stay on Orient Beach. One popular smaller resort on that beach is shown here: http://www.alamanda-resort.com/msie4.htm...
It is a relatively casual resort within a few footsteps of a wonderful beach. The beach is topless but only a half mile walk to a totally nude portion of the beach. Very quiet compared to a lot of beaches, hardly any noise pollution like radios. Lots of couples on honeymoons etc. I went for 10 consecutive nights in late April and Early May and it was FANtasTIC. One of the best times to go they say is November to January or April and May. Avoid July-October cuz of Hurricane season. Another great thing is that St. Martin is only a 2 hour boat trip to St. Barth which is a good side trip. St. martin is half Dutch heritage and half French. The Dutch side is noisy with casinos and the French side is quieter with fine cousine and pristine beaches. A number of airlines fly there including US Air which goes direct from Charlotte. Take passports for sure you will need them. People are very friendly. Rental cars are inexpensive and you can get all inclusive insurance for a small amount.

My fiancee and I are currently looking for the exact same thing (but for May) as you are. So far, the most bang for the buck that we have found is an all-inclusive Sandals resort. They have several different resort locations in the Carribbean, and you just cannot beat the deal. All food and drinks are included, as well as water sports, snorkeling, etc. We have not booked yet, but are leaning towards St. Lucia!

Long Hai Vietnam. It is a resort city 1 hour away from Ho Chi Minh.
Awesome place. You can rent your own Buggalo. The beach is there, quiet, safe. Great food, workers are all nice. 78 us dollars a night, its a BARGAIN.

I was there with my wife on our honeymoon. Loved it.
we plan to go back every 5 years if possible:) kids may come, that will hold that up.

If your thinking of Fiji stick to the north of the island, Suva, the capital, is the rainy side of the island and during the rainyer season Suva gets very wet. However Nadi tends to be dryer. The clouds get stuck in the mountains and tends to stay to one side of the island.

A Caribbean Curise or a Caribbean Island honeymoon. I live on an island and I never want to leave. I would visit the U.S. but there is no place like sunshine, nice local music, tropical foods, and beautiful beaches.
