Listen, I'm a guy and I got married 8 months a ago...don't do a wedding planner not worth it, do it your self because it feels better at the end, you'll love it unless you have no taste in things but if you do....do it your self trust me...my wife and I did everything and her and I loved it.

The most common form of fee for a wedding planner is 10 to 15% of the cost of the wedding, however some planners charge a flat fee or some planners charge no fee at all and take all the discounts from the vendors.

Well, i am a wedding planner and I can tell you that it all depends who you go to and where you're located. Some planners charge a flat fee, others charge a percent of your budget, and others will charge hourly. I, for example, work with you to decide which option is right for the bride and the budget. Smaller budgets are usually charged a flat fee and larger ones are charged a percentage. The cost is going to be higher if you're having a destination wedding, or live in an expensive area (i.e Florida, California, DC). Feel free to email me if you need anything else.

in my area wedding planners are a flat fee. an average rate is 10-15% of the totalcost of the wedding. the whole reasoning behind a planner is that they have contacts with better pricing so they will save you money and you can then look at the planner as being a freebie , in a sense. i would use a seasoned planner with over 5 years in the business if you have a budget over $30,000 or guest list over 375. good luck!

I AM a wedding planner and I can tell you that you wont be able to get that answer from here. Sorry
The reason for this is that some planners go by a percentage (anything from 7% - 25% of the total wedding costs) others charge hourly fees (anything from $15/hr to $150 per hour).
Others charge a flat rate for "packages". (this varies too much to even give a range)
As you can see there are HUGE differences in cost.
You need to talk to wedding planners in your area and compare their contracts (READ CONTRACTS CAREFULLY).
If you need any other help feel free to email me and I will assist you to the best of my ability.

It depends on what services you want the planner to perform. If you want a planner to be at your beck and call and make sure everything is taking care of in a timely manner then they will most likely charge you based on the service that is being performed (i.e. setting up vendors could be charged at 5-15% of the vendors fees). If you only want them to help you make a planner and to be there during the wedding to make sure things run smoothly then they will sometimes charge a flat fee.

Its a flat rate depending upon whats all involved. Call one in your area and give them a basic idea of what you're looking at and they can tell you. We had one and dispite what others will tell you when you're having a big wedding *we had over 200 guests* its extremely worth it. My friend got married last weekend.. didn't have one only had 80 guests and she was stuck cleaning tables as people finished eating and washing dishes because the place she was at didn't have a staff and she didn't have a wedding planner with a staff to do it.

Wedding planners are seldom hourly. They set an overall fee and then they may add fees for additional items. You will see that many have a flat rate and then several packages which will have different fees.

There are so many different types of planners. Some help with the whole wedding and some with just specific things. Dont bother getting one, it is a waste of money. The only people who really need and get one are celebrities and the super rich.
