I don't know why she is turning to the internet for comfort, but it's really important that your mom lets her know now that this kind of behavior is unacceptable. Usually there is an underlying source of problem... Is she getting attention from perverted guys online? Maybe she needs more attention at home, or with guys in her area... I really don't know. I can only speculate. You need to figure out what it is that is missing in her life.

I mean sure I'm addicted, but I don't turn it on right after I walk in the door. I'm 10 years old. I go on sites that are for teens...Maybe you could unplug it, and say you gotta do whatever this and that before you can go on the Net. My dad did that 2 me.

Been there, done that. Maybe she's chatting to someone special...or just friends. The internet is verrrry addictive but I don't like people confronting me about my 'addiction' lol. So, I just suggest telling her WHEN SHE'S NOT ONLINE that you'd appreciate it if she wasn't so neglectful of everyone else when she gets on.

Act like theres something wrong with the computer or ask her if she wants to go somewhere with you. The main thing u want to do is get her focused on something else.

Put a password on the computer, and tell her if she wants to use it, she'll have to start showing everone a little respect, (especially mother), before she'll be allowed to use it.

Cancel your ISP. She might find other things to do if she can't connect.
Who's paying for it? If not her- make her pay for it.
