We know that the Bible instructs us about how to do many of the works we carry out as Christians. It tells us how to worship, how to become a member of God's family, and how to carry ourselves as Christians. We are also told to avoid certain things, such as lying, idolatry, and fornication. These all refer to works a Christian should or should not do.
Am I right about it? What do you think?

Thank you Phoenix Slayer.
Of couse, you know his Word tells us what he would do.
Philippians 4:8 plainly answers this question:
"Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest."

Thank you Christian Girl.
Love DOES fulfill the law.
"Whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure." This refers to things that are according to God's law. Job 4:17 says that we will never be more just or purer than God. Therefore, God is our example of how to be just and pure. Romans 1: 1-7 says that the just shall live by faith.

Mary, Thank you for your response.
Your bible would be pretty short. There's a lot more to the Christian walk than that. There are some specifics that one could not possibly gleen from just that.
But of course, I respect your thoughts.

Nick,
I can't give a thing concerning faith.
If you want it you get it. If not, don't. It's YOUR choice.

Thank you stumped.
That certainly is key!
Meditate on His Word....and put it to action.
Amen?
"Whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report." This refers to things that are worthy of love and good news. This means we need not dwell on bad news or hateful things, but to remember how good life is (you have to admit it's much better than it was for early Christians). If we think on the bad things in life, it will never be enjoyable, and more important, it will hinder our work as Christians. We have been blessed with the hope of heaven, which is enough to outweigh all bad experiences in our minds. I Timothy 6:6 says that godliness with contentment is great gain. Maybe we shouldn't think about how hard it is to be a Christian, but about what we gain from it.
Amen?

Thank you Shirley!
It's people like YOU, that make my walk with Christ even better.
Such an insightful statement you make.
Thinking on the things taught in Philippians 4:8 will make us better Christians. Why? Never forget this truth--God knows our thoughts as well as our actions.
God bless you sister.

Awesome question! There's a trend in popular Christianity today for people to think about "what can God do for me," and "what do I want," or even, "look what God has done for me!" It's all so sad I could cry, just wondering how many people ever say, "I wonder what God is thinking right now? I wonder He's doing and planning and hoping tonight?"

I am not a Christian, but I understand what you are asking. I believe the best answer is not only to accept Jesus as your savior, but to emulate his life in terms of behavior.
Never pass up an opportunity to do a kindness.
Never walk away from someone in need.
Find your way to divinity through love, study and compassion.
Charity is more important than things, give more than you can afford and love more than you are loved.
Forgiveness - look at the Amish who forgave the man who massacred their children early this month.
Teach children the values of love, compassion, hope, charity, forgiveness, inclusion - not exclusion, education not ignorance.
Hard work is not an evil, but a way to earn your money, and also a way to help others.
Do not turn away from people because they are poor, have a different skin tone, are ill - mentally or physically or if they disagree with you. Jesus never shut anyone out.
Celebrate the joys of life, don't wallow in the darkness. The Christian God is supposed to have a path for you, and that path may include pot holes and road bumps as well as smooth straight down hill patches.
Take responsibility for your actions and ask forgiveness from those you injure.
Revere the old, they have knowledge and experiences to share. Cherish the young for their innocense.
The world is the Christian's God's gift to you, treat it as such, protect it, gaurd it and nuture it the way you would any gift.
Look for knowledge in many places, as Jesus did in his time in Egypt.
Care for the sick, no matter how they got that way. Jesus didn't ask the woman afflicted by demons how she got them before he banished them to the pigs.
Try to do better every day, Jesus may forgive you all, but don't put a lot on his plate at the end of your days.
But that's just a Pagan's view of what Christians should be and do

There is nothing that beats personal Bible Study. 2 Timothy 2:15 "Study to show yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth." It is a life long project so get started immediately. All you need is your Bible, and prayer and the Holy Spirit. What you don't want is a study guide from someone who has already done it. The power in it is not in what you learn, but in interaction with God in learning. You do not study to learn things, but to get to know the Teacher.

Well things we should think about Is Jesus. Keep our eyes on him and not on the world. Don't worry about someone elses sin, but work on your sin. Study the word of God and know it in your heart and pray. The flesh is a tricky thing and if you let your flesh go 1 mile it will go 100 miles. When you find you have a problem with the flesh ask the Holy Spirit to fight that battle and walk on toward your goal.

The only thing you need to do as a christian is to love with a pure heart, a clear conscience, a joyful spirit, humble service and sincere faith. That will cover all situations with all people. Remember...God is Love. That's all that really matters.

Yes and it also is the glasses by which we see ourselves and how far short we fall so that we always look to Christ and not ourselves. As He says He is the vine we are only branches fully dependent on the vine.

At least generally, yes. But most important of all is love. If we have love and put love first, everything else will fall into place.

Religion is a scam for the weak minded people. Religion was created to control the masses and make a select few rich and powerful. Religion preys upon the universal human fear..fear of the unknown. Fear is what drives you to religion. To be completly honest.... there is no proof at all, yet people kill over it....... so sad how stupid and easily fooled most people are.
Give me one ounce of proof...............
