I got a bad chest infection a few nights ago. I saw the dr and everything was normal. It was normal being sick when suddenly two days ago I started coughing up some blood. I woke up this AM and hacked basically lots of blood. I went back to the dr today and they did a chest x-ray, which came back fine, except they found a few abnormal spots that look like little round things. Could this be nodules, or the beginnings of lung cancer....and thats why I am bleeding? The Dr. wasnt concerned but any guesses>>

By the way, never smokes and Im a 23 yr old guy

Odd are definitetly not leaning towards cancer. You had/have a bad chest infection, probably from all the coughing. Phone your Dr. and ask him what they could be from and what he thinks? Please don't worry yourself unnecessarily.

Sometimes if you have been coughing a lot, it can break some capilaries and you can cough up blood. Has your dr. referred you for any other tests or explained to you what is causing the dark circles? If not you should ask him, that's what he gets paid for.

get a second opinion, the dr should give you the info you need before you leave his office. if you are nervous , make a list of questions on paper and bring it with you.
