You have made bread in the machine before this no rise incident?
It doesn't matter what machine your using or if you make it by hand. Yes altitude may be of a problem, so can humidity. Check all the expiration date on your Yeast, and remember to use luke warm water for proofing. Just make sure ever things fresh and keep trying, there's no better smell then fresh bread baking. Pass the butter and honey please.

hi....according to my friend who is a bread baker your water shouldn't be hotter than what you would have in a baby's bottle and make sure your yeast is fresh as in not old at all. I keep mine in a cool dry place, the freezer and I use quality yeast. Quality ingredients will only enhance your bread made in a machine. I also use good quality flour......and I make sure I am not measuring too much....don't pack it in the cup, spoon it in lightly and level off. Maybe these tips will help. Good luck!

You're higher than I in altitude, but one trick I know works on yeast activation is sugar or honey. Place your yeast in warm water as suggested on the directions, but wait for it to bubble up, if it doesn't, add a 1/2 tsp. of either... yeast feeds on sugar, bubbly yeast makes for better rising bread.
