have missed out something in life? I remember being invited to dinner by some friends and really enjoyed the chicken pie.
However, I could not understand why everyone was laughing at me. I was making a real exhibition of myself and could not stop laughing and rolling on the floor. Later I can remember being very remorse and down. I evetually found out that my friend had put magic mushrooms in the chicken pie. I will always remember how unhappy I felt and the tears and sadness..
And so I can never understand why people want to put themselves through this torture for a few moments of Euphoria.

I admitted to mention that this was years ago and I have brought up a family since. I consider myself lucky that none of my children have been tempted and that I am very lucky too in the respect that I have an addictive personality and could have easily been dragged into the drug scene. I was told after that I should never induldge because of my addictive personality personality as mushroom are the worse possible drug to take when afflicated with this sort of personality.

I take your point about hanging out with people who take drugs. However, how are you expected to know when this person and his wife put on a respectable front and he is now one of Scotlands respected novelist. Just shows that you can't judge a book by the cover.

Nah, I've never taken drug, and am happy with it. Although when I was a kid, I was so curious, but I ended up not doing it as I never had a chance. As I grew older some people offered me, but I said no, because ...what's the point of doing things that is not gonna do any good to you? You can get addicted so easily, and will be hard to live without it. I just don't want some rubbish like that to control my life.
By the way, I'm sorry for what happened to you. It was an accident, and was not your fault. Just forget it, and stay away from junk.

Sounds like you had a bad experience. Drugs are not a necessary part of life and for some people they can tear their lives apart. There is some belief that some mild experimentation with mind altering substances can be beneficial but again not a requirement. I have tried some drugs in my past and have had some good experiences and some bad experiences. I don't do them anymore but I am grateful for my experiences and the lessons I learned.
But for future reference you shouldn't hang out with people who would slip you drugs without your knowledge, that could be very dangerous. Hang in there buddy whatever your choices may be I'm sure you'll end up right where you are suppose too.

The answer is simple. Not all people feel the depression that you felt after using drugs like mushrooms. Everyone is different therefore drugs effect everyone differently. Another good point is most drug users are already depressed so even if the drug depresses them after they are finished being high they dont care because they were unhappy to begin with.
One more thing to everyone who is going to say drugs are for losers and pass judgement and all of that.... you have no right to have an opinion unless you have been there and done that, otherwise your feelings are uninformed, you can think drug users are stupid or losers or whatever but you cant really judge unless you have done it yourself at least them you have something to go off of.

drugs have different effects on different people...if you chose that as a lifestyle then you should pick a drug that doesn't make you cry...pot seems to work for a bunch of folks...there is no missing out in life....drugs don't define a momentous occasion in someone's life...like seeing the cun rise over the pacific ocean...or watching the snow fall at the Kremlin....those are things to experience and to realize in life...not a high that lasts for a couple of seconds, but a memory that lasts a lifetime

just a littla bit of pot can lead to a lot of somehting of something else very easily and the problem is that kids have enough pocket money for alsorts we used to chip in and get a bottle of cider now they chip in and get a couple of xtc or a bag of herion quite easily and the dealers dont ask for ID when they come to the door and theres normally no person like in a bar to tell them they have enough and your point about being spiked is far to comonplace the people who do this should get long prison sentences as they are playing with peoples long term health and their lifes

I've never tried drugs, I never will, and I certainly don't think I'm missing anything. I've got far better things in my life than drugs. I've got great friends, a great family and a great life. I don't need drugs to make my life interesting or make me feel like I'm an interesting person.

most people think of drugs as only those which are illegal. yet, most people use coffee to wake up, many people smoke, and most drink some form of alcohol. not to mention all the feel good drugs the doctors give these days to help people cope. are drugs bad when your government tells you they are, and good when the gov't says they're ok? try to think for yourself, instead of blindly following what you're told.
oh, and as far as your situation, it's terrible that people tricked you into taking mushrooms. they need to be taught a lesson.

who ever spiked you is a total a.rse, two of my friends got spiked with acid and both ended up in the psychiatric unit, they are not the fun loving people they were. its really sad how depressed and fcuked up they are now. Yes i have done my share of drugs but gave it up 8 years ago and i feel so much better for giving them up. its a mugs game and yes i was a mug for taking them. i prefer reality to some chemical induced false happiness, cos that's what it is fake happiness

drugs are used to escape reality..the problem is there reality is not what they hoped for in life so they look for a false reality through drugs and alcohol...Then when drugs cant blur there vision of life anymore they look to harder drugs or just give up. It is a vicious cycle that seldom has a end.. It is best to deal with problems sober !!! Good luck with your decision :-)

I don't think so, but I don't judge anyone who tries to see what it's like, what I do find very very dangerous is that what you call friends put drugs in your food without your knoweledge!!! You should have reported them to the police, you could have died you know!
