They prescribe "Prednisone" but my dog has a bad reaction. What can be used that's natural?

I have a secret recipe! I got from a cocker spaniel breeder and it works wonders!!! Try it.... go to the website and read all the F&Q about it so you dont worry. I rescued a cocker with a bad ear infection, cleared it up pretty well. And if you have a Wal-Mart near by you can get everything there. I got the Boric Acid from the pharmacy department, its not behind the counter but you still might need to ask. Everything is relatively inexpensive, you can probably get everything under $10. Good Luck!

You can use this on other breeds with floppy ears as well, or just as a regular cleanse on any breed.

Your dog has more then a common ear infection if the vet prescribed Prednisone.Instead of asking here on the internet you need to be talking to your vet...no one here can prescribe anything, natural or not for your dog..we don't know what exactly your dog is dealing with, plus prescribing ANYTHING..is illegal even for a licensed vet without seeing your dog.

Call you vet and tell them this and they can prescribe something different.. I would not go with anything you see online.. not for an ear infection.. if untreated it can get really bad... so I would not mess around with it...

Did he not give him antibiotics as well? If its a TRUE infection then they should have antibiotics.. if its just swimmers ear basically then not...

Call your vet and good Luck

I have never been prescribed pred for an ear infedtion in any dog. Usually, a ear ointment like Panalog or Tresaderm is prescribed, and sometimes an oral antibiotic like Baytril also.
I think I would pass on pred for an ear infection!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe get a new vet.
