There is no god, but if there were, I'd be the first to pin it on him.

In my opinion, God didn't really create herpes. We did. As a community we have the ability to create diseases and influence the way they affect us. As individuals, we can still decide how a disease will affect us but we have to deal with others' doubts and fears.
Herpes can be very benign but we are so afraid and ashamed of genital herpes because we have all these ideas about sex, sin and God's punishment.
We are talking about personal beliefs here so we may not agree but to me God is this wonderful magnificent world of possibilities that can give you anything you want if you have enough faith. God could give you anything, even perfect health.
When I say that some people get angry at me but I honestly believe that because we were given free will we were able to create diseases like herpes with fear, shame and guilt and we could break free from it with faith and love. We may just not have the wisdom yet but I believe someday we will.
In the meanwhile, a good treatment can help ease the pain and prevent recurrences and nature is very generous with us, giving us inexpensive and useful remedies.
Kind Regards,
Nathalie

i do no longer enroll in the theory that God created AIDS to punish homosexuals, yet I do think of it would desire to be that STD's frequently are a brilliant deterrent to promiscuous, wanton, unprotected and indiscriminate intercourse.
