I say this as someone who really wanted a dog for a long time and had to work really hard to convince her to get me one. Listen to what your mom says. Usually if you really want it, mom will probably give you some rules you have to follow. It took me two years of doing my chores and keeping my grades up to get my first dog, and that wasn't that long ago, I'm only 17, and I got Marley when I was 10 and started doing dog showing and lots of other things. He was one of the best presents I ever got, but I had to work really hard for him. Also, if you just can't have a dog right now, try to understand, sometimes it doesn't work right now, but it might in a few years.

When I was a kid me and my sis wanted a dog.
We did everything that you have mentioned porbably more since there were two of us who wanted the dog.
Our mom liked dogs and the only reason that she had said no initially
was because she knew having dogs ment: -
>giving it food thrice a day
>taking it out thrice a day
>giving it a wash at least once a week
>cleaning its bed almost every day.
scrubbing the sofa, carpet and all your dress off its fur.
>cleaning its poop and leaks till the time it is properly trained.
>taking care of it when there are other children in the house.
>finding someone when you have to leave town and go out on even a short trip.
>taking it to a vet periodically.
>if you live in a city you can't even allow you dog to poop in a public place. You'll porbably have to carry a poly bag to pick it up.
>and god help you if your dog has a temper, you'll have to restrain it everytime the doorbell rings.
The list is endless however a pets beady black eyes and its waggy tail and the cute look can really put a smile on anyone's face.
The best thing to do is keep doing your good stuff, make it a point that you will look after your dog
AND
as I said TO GET YOU MOM TO BRING HOME A PET .......... TAKE HER TO A PET SHOP.......LET HER LOOK INTO ALL THE SWEET DREAMY EYES AND WIGGLY TAIL AND SAY NO!!!

HAVE you done everything?
If I were you, I'd keep up the good work. Make good grades. Explain all the Pros and Cons of getting a dog. Pros-good stuff
Cons-bad stuff
Be honest when explaining these. Tell you mom that over 1,000,000 dogs are put down every year and then mabey she'll get a shelter dog for you.
Good Luck! I know what it is like to wait long for something you want.

Is your family financially capable of buying and taking care of a dog? Its like having another child in the house, and your parents may not want to use their hard earned money for it. Maybe wait until you're 14 or 15 when you can get a job legally and take care of expenses on your own. Good Luck!

ur mum might not be interested in having a dog as a pet, or she wouldnt like a dog roaming in the house, coz once they are close they might prefer to stay with us all the time. Discipline is quiet important, taking care of its personal health is very important, chaining it at homeis important especially when visitors come, she might not like to handle it . So when u grow up u can do everything all by ur self and see that it dosen't disturb or annoy her. These could be the possible reasons for now, u have to find out.

I am also an animal lover .I love cats ,specially the dogs. They are very lovely .In my opinion, you should tell your mom that how you love the animals .If you can promise to save the money to buy the animal and say that you are willing to wash the animal few times one week to keep it clean ,I think your mom will be not only persuarded but also proud of your behave. Finally ,you must be sucessed.

u say u have done everything? well maybe your mom just doesnt think that ur not responsible enough for a dog. u should proove to her that u can take care of a dog. is there a specific type of breed that u want? maybe your mom just doesnt like that breed or if u live in a apartment. that might be a reason your mom maybe doesnt want u to have a dog either. u could maybe be a fish for example. one fish isnt that expensive and u could care for it and show her that u can take care of animals. or well u never know, ur mom might just be planning to by u a dog and maybe she didnt want to tell you?

i think --your mom must be afraid of cleanliness and workload increased by bringing a dog at home so you must ensure your mom-
1-that you will do all the works of dog like giving food and taking for a walk ,if she wants your help.
2-you must promise that -dog will not enter the area prohibited for it by mom and it will be trained and disciplined by you,as she wishes.
3-you should promise that after playing n even touching dog you will wash your hands with soap without failure and any reminder by mom.
4-you can ask your papa n other members of family to make requests to your mother n giving help in all the extra chores of dog.
5-you may ask on a special occasion --as a gift to you--with all the above assurances n promises.and that you will bring better results in your class (a rank which your mom always wishes for you in class)and you will only spend limited time with dog!
6-you can make her agree by telling her that-dog is so faithful and gives safety to home in many ways and company too when she is alone at home.
7-take views of other friends' mom,who have dog at home-in front of your mom to convince her.
8-please think - if anyperson is allergic at your home for dogs'hair or any type, then you have to ensure about all hygienic concerns and not taking your dog inside your home.
i am sure --by making all such promises you will get a dog at your home.

do the following things
(1) first of all ask why she wont get a dog ,and explain her why u
like the dog so much(good solid reasons)
(2) tell her that u r going to take care of the dog(like bathing it etc.)
(3) try to spend more number of hours in studying(if u donot like studying for such a long time ,just pretend like studying)
note---ask her about the dog again when she is in good mood
best of luck to my little friend
