I always look like I haven't slept a wink. Under my eyes are real dark. I use make-up sometimes to blend it in with the rest of my face but that only works a couple of hours. The skin between the bottom of my chin and under my lip is also dark. It's mostly because of black heads and I've tried everything to get rid of them but they wont go away. Can anyone help me on either subject? It would greatly be appreciated!

How to Get Rid of the Black Rings Around Your Eyes

As the skin surrounding the eyes is sensitive compared to the other parts of the body, more attention is required. The darker your scars appear, older you look and your pretty face turns unkempt due to these circles. Besides the dark circles you may come across other problems like conjunctivitis, swellings and there are many severe problems like lymphoma, cataract, inflammation of iris, etc. There are a few suggestions mentioned for simple eye problems below. Your eyes are the index of your face value. The prettier your eyes look the more speedy attention you may attract from the public.

Regular skin care is required to maintain the area surrounding your eyes. Use a gel or a cream and rub it gently around the orbital bone. The orbital bone is the area that falls directly under the eye structure. Be careful not to rub harshly when you rub around the eye area. The harsh rubbing can only lead to more irritation.

Apply the cream to the skin and relax for sometime. If you have to put on a facemask, then soak the little cotton pads into the soap water and place it on the eyes when they are closed. Otherwise, you may use them around 2 cucumber slices to make your eyes cooler. In this way you can provide a pleasant feeling to your eyes. And you can get rid of your dark circles around your eyes quickly. Your skin will glow when these circles vanish.

Whenever you experience problems like sore eyes due to harmful infrared rays, wind or after using water with chlorine, then rinse your eyes thoroughly with enough distilled water. Mix rose water with about 1-2 tablespoons in distilled water. Give a suitable bath to the eyes.

Sometimes you may develop mild swelling on your eyes. This mainly occurs due to the excess fluid that is accumulated or the toxins that are present within the eye. In this case, gently rub around your eyes so that the lymphatic nerves are activated. By doing this you will be able to relax faster. If you still want to provide a soothing and a cooling effect to your eyes, then apply cream or gel. Keep them in the fridge for nearly one day and rub them around your skin delicately.

The eye darkness can be genetic, stress/sleep or minor circulation or liver problems. Black heads, unless you don't keep clean, are internal and build up because of wrong oils or lack of proper oils.

Start taking a combo of Borage, Fish and Flax oils. This may sound crazy if your skin seems oily; but it works over 3-6 months. Borage is the big key to skin quality along with proper hydration. Drink one liter for every 40 lbs body weight always.

Next, or first, I would try an internal cleanse. Check out yerbaprima.com. They are about the oldest in the business and it worked for me. This might even make a minor change in your skin tone when coupled with the oils.

Once you are on the oils and do a cleanse then go for a facial if needs be. Otherwise use some deep cleansing pore strips, I like Biore, to keep out the black heads and reduce the size of the bigger pores.

Swim at a well maintained pool three to five times per week.. This will give your skin organ an overall cleanse and help both skin and blood circulation. Swimming can control problems even when the cause is not corrected. Think about it. You are cleaning one or two little spots on your face but the skin is really the largest integrated body organ that you have.

Finally put on a good face cream at night with Vitamin E at its base. Switch to a glycerin based face soap like Neutrogena. If you are convinced you have to much oil moving from your scalp down your face then try their oil-free acne wash product.

If none of the above work it is time to see your dermatologist

There are under-eye products that are specifically made for darkness. They're a gold-ish color, and they're intended to change the darker, bluish, color. You add foundation or a liquid concealor. I would think if you brought touch-up make-up with you you could freshen up the make-up when you need to. Usually, a good concealor doesn't wear off even if some foundation does.

The only thing I can think of with regard to the blackheads is you must have a very oily chin, and whatever you're doing to wash your face isn't enough. If you've tried the facial scrubs aimed at blackheads and tried some of the astringents used after cleaning, I wonder if what you need to do is see a dermatologist. You do have to be careful not to use something like a terry facecloth to scrub because you'll irritate the skin and make breakouts. The blackheads are there because oil (and maybe dirt) is clogging your pores. Maybe when you wash your face (hottest water you can stand but finish with cold water to close the pores) you need to wash it two or three times rather than once; and maybe you need to do this face-washing routine three or four times a day every day.

I know they say not to squeeze them, but if I had them I think I'd start by doing that (the site below backs me up but stresses it has to be gentle squeezing) and then follow up with the use of a cleanser for oil skin, a follow-up product, and the washing routine.

I am a little curious about that chin. Are you sure it is blackheads. Have a good friend take a look under a magnifying glass and make sure that it is blackheads. One way to get rid of them is to apply a little "Will Hold Glue" it is fast drying and when it is dry just peel it off and the Blackheads will come off with it.
About those circles, usually caused by poor circulation. The the supplement that it improves your circulation. "CO Q-10 Enzyme." It is for heart health. The only supplement that I have ever taken that really does something noticeable.

Sorry to hear about your boyfriend. If you could drop me a line and let me know how you are doing with this problem, it would be nice.

The darkness under your eyes can be eliminated by getting enough sleep. Supplement your diet with iron. Have lots of fruits and leafy vegetables. Place cucumber slices on your eyes everyday. Also, apply grated potatoes on your eyes overnight and wash them in the morning. Do this atleast three times a week.

Remember to drink 8 glasses of water everyday.

As for the blackheads.. Wash your face regularly before going to bed and after coming from outside. Visit a parlour atleast once a month, to remove the blackheads on your face effectively.

Some people's skin naturally is darker under the eyes. It really sucks, and there's no 'permanent' way to get rid of them, unless you sleep until noon everyday and go to bed at one. But here's some blackhead ideas...

Don't pick at your face (you know, try to pop them out...). It makes your face really red and puffy, and looks disgusting for the next few weeks if you accidentally make yourself bleed. Clinique has a WONDERFUL 3 Step Process for cleaning up your skin, and the best part is; it's personalized! Go to a nearby department store and go to the Clinique section. Talk to one of the people behind the counter, and they'll probably ask you questions about your skin to try and help you find the best soap, astrigent, and gel for you. If you've got big pores, you can even talk to them about the Pore Minimizer Serum, a lotion you can put on right after the 3 Step Process.

Okay, go get some ivory concealer. Put it on the problem areas. When I wake up to put my makeup on every morning I use it first. The key to puffy eyes, which I also have, is to mix a little Preparation H with the concealer. Then, get some white eye shadow. Put the white eye shadow on under the eye as well as on the eyelid. So, basically your entire eye top and bottom will be completely white. VERY IMPORTANT... Blend it with your powder so you don't look crazy.

If you want to eliminate under eye darkness, eat healthy, exercise, get the proper amount of sleep. It's a big secret, don't tell anyone about it!

Dark circles are usually genetic. Make sure you are eating a healthy diet, drinking enough water, and getting enough sleep. If they still persist you could consider seeing a cosmetic surgeon. There are new lasers that can help with this. Nothing over the counter really works. You will end up just wasting money.
For blackheads I recommend Proactiv. It is marketed for acne, but works wonders for blackheads too.
Good luck.
