When you are beginning go for the cheapest, lower compression are better if you can find them. You won't start noticing a difference in balls until you break 90.

The difference is in the make and model. I'd suggest a soft ball for beginers. Srixon makes a really good soft ball. X-outs are just experienced balls. Most likely from a high class private clubs driving range. They were hit but don't have scuffs.

No it is not going to make a difference what kind of balls you use. Getting your equipment properly fit will be the most important thing when you are just beginning. If you don't have properly fitted equipment you will develop swing flaws to compensate for the ill fitted equipment.

Save the money by using the x-outs and spend it on a "fitted" set of decent "game improvement" clubs and some lessons.....as you get better, you will start to care more about what ball you play.

It probably won't make a difference and a beginning golfer won't be able to tell the difference anyhow.

x-outs are balls that do not have true roll. they may be too light or heavy, or just off center which will affect the flight or roll. use a quality ball except when you are going to hit a long distance over the water if it makes you nervous

As a beginer, it is more important to learn good golf fundimentals than worrying about golf balls. Learn a good golf stance/swing and after you play for a while you can decide for yourself which type of balls and clubs you prefer.

I don't think it makes a difference at this point. Learn how to swing, if you can't hit the ball correctly it won't matter what ball or clubs you use.

Well, it may have some effect on how far the ball flies, but when you are just beginning - it's more a case of how much can you afford to loose?

no the golf balls dont matter... neither do the clubs. Spend your money on lessons with a good golf pro. number one thing you should do before you get into any bad habits.
