It depends on what the certain things are. If it is like getting through college first and finding a good paying job so he can support his family in the future, yes he does. I dont know much more to tell you, you would need to go into a little more detail on the certain things that he wants to do before he wants to get married.

girl_sweet: There are intentions and there are INTENTIONS. In your case, you have to determine for yourself if your guy is holding off for YOU or for himself. Let's say, he is getting his degree or diploma before he "ties the knot" with you - that is a good idea. But; if he is delaying getting married because he wants to "sow his oats". Then; chances are he is keeping you on the "back burner" just-in-case nothing "better" is available. I would be a little apprehensive then and would tell him no sex until you "accomplish first", those "things" in the way. The gamble now, for YOU is if you are having sex with him already, then he is trying to wiggle out of a commitment with you. Again; Why buy the cow when the milk is free ! ??? - think about it.

The answer is NO. Believe it or not when a man wants to marry you nothing will get in his way. He can accomplish his goals with you as his wife. Don't believe him. Live your life. Tell him that you need to find separate for awhile because you have goals set for yourself that you need to accomplish. Don't just say, but do it. He come running back to you with a ring.

You must be dating my ex. I had a guy tell me that and it was crap. If he wants to marry you he would still be able to accomplish those things while he is married.

Could be legit, or could be an excuse. Depends on how long you've been going together and how well you know him. If being married would precludee his accomplishments, well...And if it wouldn't, find someone else.

If you don't trust this man enough to believe what he says, why would you trust him enough to marry him? Something is very wrong with this picture - it is too unsteady. I think you need to examine this relationship more closely and see if it actually contains the ingredients necessary for two people to make that ultimate commitment before the Lord. Somehow I don't think so.

If he says he wants to marry you, then he probably wants to marry you. If he wants to get things done first, then maybe he is setting a foundation for the marriage, like a career, or if he has something things he wants to do on his own like travel or something, let him do it. We are still all individuals.

Yes. He does. He is taking marriage seriously. Most people dont think, marriage is forever, for better or worse. Well he wants to better himself before so he wont go to worse. Its not about seeing other women before marriage, because honestly, you get more play when your married.
