wow, that is totally not dumb at all! so many great people throughout history have all been intrigued with the idea of death and dying and yet it is the one thing in the world that absolutly everyone can be assured we will experience at some time. the inevitability of it can make it a very scary and hard idea to cope with... im not going to lie, probably about once a year i will cower alone in total fear of what will happen to me, what has happened to some of my loved ones once death has taken us to our final destination. every great religion that has ever existed is solely based uppon answering this very question... that right there tells you that its been on a few people's minds for a while. i think an unhealthy amount of attention to it can be detrimental to one's health, as anything else can be: ie, eating to much makes you fat, talking to much makes you annoying, drinking to much alcohol gives you liver disease; you get the picture. so in short some thought should definately be given to the topic, if you are religious then find comfort in your religion's answer to that question that faces us all. if you are not find comfort in the life you have now and know that death is the only part of life we can all look forward to together...

Nothing strange about your fear. Sounds like you're a young person realizing your own potential mortality for the first time. Just remember that we ALL have to get off the ride sooner or later. Nobody gets away without "crossing over."
Here's one idea that helped me: if you found out you only had a day to live, then are you doing what you really want to be doing? If the next act you were to do was to be your last act on this Earth, would it be what you'd want to be remembered for?
With that philosophy in mind, you learn never to take anything TOO seriously, and yet at the same time everything in life becomes all the more special.
Welcome to the human condition! And, fear not. You'll do just fine. And you're not alone: William Shatner has the same fear of death as you. He spoke of it once in an interview.

No it is not dumb because we are all afraid of something at one time or another. some time`s it is good to be scared some time`s it is not. But it is only natural te be scared of death. You should talk about this to your preacher or priest or your minister. And he will help you to understand this fear and alway`s remember you are not alone with this fear. There are a lot of other people that have this fear and we will all face death some day.

Well I am sure you are not the first person to think this. I think so many people are scared about death, I know I was a few years ago. All I can say is that it passes; but untill then, live for the moment. Be very specific. Forget the long term. Approach life with the good old que sera sera (whatever will be, will be) attitude and you won't go far wrong.

Do not do anything to harm yourself. Ending your life would be completely tragic. It's not worth it. I know what it feels like to have people say bad things about you in high school. Guess what? It gets SO much better. Getting a little older solves everything and you don't want to take that away from yourself. I know it is hard, but IGNORE people as much as you can. Take good care of yourself. I'm serious. You are the one you need to worry about, not other people or bullies. Talk to your school counselor and let them know how you feel. They can help you. It's going to be ok! Promise!

Let's see here..... how can I make this easy on you.....?
Death is certain like taxes. Like sun rise and sun set. It is a sure thing.
Are you afraid of sunrise? Sunset? You go about your duty, right?
When it comes it comes. Everyone on this earth, human and non-human will eventually die.
Understand this, accept it and move on. Only the question remains how you will die - whether it is a quick one or a prolonged one. Either way cross that bridge when you come to it.
