God doesn't give us gifts for sinning. That would mean that God hates married couples that can't conceive but loves unwed, irresponsible welfare women because he "gives" them a child everyyear. It's kinda like saying God gave someone money for food when that person robbed a convenient store. Sin doesn't give you gifts from God.

Not everything happens for a good reason. God has nothing to do with unmarried people having children. One might say God let the child be born for a reason, but just because something happens doesn't make it a good reason. That would mean that children were molested and killed for a good reason, and I don't think anyone believes that. These children are born because of their unwed parents not using birth control. And right and wrong doesn't change just because it is 2006.

why is everyone calling the questioner 'a hater of children'?
The question is not about whether she loves of hates kids born in or out of wedlock. I'm sure she loves children too.
The question is why do people try to make sin and fruit of that sin seem like a good thing, like its a gift from God.
I appreciate your bravery in asking this question. Sad to see there are no good answers.

i believe all children are a gift from god married or not. i guess people who are married and suffering from infertility are not supposed to have kids maybe they are meant to serve another purpose like adoption because all kids need love and a family its just that everyone doesnt realize that and dont reach that point of enlightment. god blesses us even through sin. god is a merciful and forgiving god and has his own reasons for the things he does. And just because there are women on welfare does not mean they are irresponsible. every child is born for a distinctive reason known by god and if they are born from a welfare mother so be it because an unwed welfare mom can love and take care of child just as good as a married financially stable family.

I think all children are a gift from God. I am a single parent. My son is now 27 years old and in all the years I was raising him I was never on welfare. It is narrow minded of you to think that just because a women has a child out of wed lock that they are on welfare. Many women now a days choose to have children without husbands. I always was taught that God loves everyone, single, married, divorced, etc. I wouldn't classify having a child and not being married a "sin". I could think of a lot worse things that I would consider a sin, rape, murder, child abuse are just a few.

Because God loves the mankind, if God is not happy about this child He would not have allowed this child to be born or develop. But the fact that the baby is healthy and now become an elligitimate child as you name it is a gift of life, it seems like God has a good plan for him. I believe there's no such thing as an elligitemate child they are the children of God. The first one has to cast a stone to this child is sinless. This child is an Angel if God can forgive those who torture Him I cannot see a point why a child is not one of His. Jesus says Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.

First of all the children aren't the sin. The act of adultery and fornication that was committed is the sin. I never heard anyone say that illegitimate children are a gift from God they say Children are a gift from God. My thing is that people always look at the evidence produce from a sin, but what kills me people can look at illegitimate children and say Look at the sin they committed. Hello sin is sin in the eyes of God. Just because you don't committ adultery or fornicate and come up with illegitimate children doesn't make you any better if you lie, hate, cheat, steal, have malice and hate in your heart. All sin stinks in the nostrils of God. For a thought check the bible all your questions can be answered there.

ALL children are a gift from God. The child had no say in how he/she was conceived. Are you seriously suggesting that a child born to married people has more value that a child born to a single mom?
That’s a disgraceful thought and I pray you don’t take this feeling out on any children.
Unbelievable!
God give me the strength to be polite.

Can you really be so hateful about little children?
Everything happens for a reason, and every human life is precious. I am surprised you'd be so cold to babies who have absolutely no say as to how they're brought into this world. Children are always a gift. Babies born to unwed mothers can serve to set priorities straight in a hurry, and to show women what life is really about. If you wouldn't call that a "gift," I don't understand you.
Today must be smug moral superiority day or something. Let me remind you of a story about a lady who was about to get stoned for adultery. This guy came up to the men who were about to kill her and said, "whichever one of you has no sin can cast the first stone." They went away.
Sound familiar?

Y'know, you, like many, are pretty angry about those mothers. What about the fathers taking off that is usually what causes said women to have to go onto welfare? Why does nobody think of them?
What I'm gathering from this is...any person who was born out of wedlock is total trash, and not of God. Am I drawing the right conclusion here?

Gift for sinning? Are your birthday presents gifts for aging? They are gifts of love. All children are gifts of God. God loves the sinner and the virtuous. Never equate God's love with what you think of as rewards. God does not reward in this world. He has given you the greatest gift; your life. Please, don't cheapen it or anyone else's by declaring it a "gift of sin". Sin will be soon enough judged in the afterlife. Leave the judging to God. Try practicing tolerance and love.

ALL children are a gift from God. A child is not just a gift to the parents -- it is a gift to the family, the community and the world in general.
You may not agree how the gift was conceived and you may not like the boddy used to deliver it, but it's a gift nonetheless.
Just so you know, God doesn't give gifts for hatred either.

Grow up. having a child out of wed-lock is not such a big deal these days, maybe you should crawl out from the rock you're under and realize this. All children are a gift from God. Maybe not all people should be having children especially if they're on welfare with 10 other kids already, but a child is innocent in it's circumstance.
