y dont u do your project about the soccer teams a.s. roma and s.s. lazio? its something that really involves all the population, it can be very colorful and allows you also to discuss about many issues of today's roman society and economics. and u could find a lot of material about it quite easily!

One project I would have liked to do, but never got down to it, was to document all the most interesting doors in the city. Being such an old city, I can assure you there are some pretty interesting doors down there, some monumental, some just pictoresque...

Collect pictures and info on all of the different fountains in the city. Materials, established date, movies they were used in, symbolism's and gods/deities associated with them, etc.

maybe you can do a project on the system of how roman empire work sort of like a chart.
