you may want to get married, but the question is, do you want to marry one another. You are the only one that knows that answer and from there, I would move in with him for a year, see how that goes, and then look towards marriage. Most people want to get married, but never live with one another, then find out that their spouse is totally different when you have to see them 24/7. You may want to make sure what you are getting yourself into, before taking that next step...marriage. I have been with my b/f for 4yrs, and lived with him for awhile, we both know that since we can live together, we can definately take that next step.

Dating for a year then being engaged just long enough to plan the wedding is what I was told in a singles seminar many years ago. The average time from first date to wedding is about 18 months.

I got married six weeks after our first meeting. We are still together 13 years later, but trust me...it wasn't long enough. I love him, but in all honesty if I had taken more time to know him I probably would not have married him. We had to work long and hard to keep the relationship going!!

If ya'll are both ready to take the next step then go for it. But make sure you are truely in love with each other because all you hear about these days are people getting divorced.

depends on alot of things. maturity levels. financial status--namely, financial security. just because you want to get married doesn't mean you should.
my husband and i met briefly before he went overseas. i knew his grandparents, ad so we e-mailed back and forth for about 6 months. he came home on leave and we got engaged and we got married when he came back. it just depends on the couple.
you have to do what is right for yourself and for you two. take a good look at yourself and make sure you are ready and that there aren't any goals you feel you would have to sacrifice.
make sure you have a mature outlook. i worked with a girl who got married and a month later she was divorced because she went into it thinking that divorce was a remedy for any huge problem. she never thought about actually having to live with one person for the rest of her life.

its not a matter of time its how u feel about each other. if your in love then there's no reason not to . but then again it matters who your with and if they have issues with commitment. for some people marriage doesn't cross their mind until their about to lose that partner and then they realize they want that person in their life. hopefully u and this guy actually set a date and dont let broken promises of today be tomorrows!!!!!!!!!

Dating is not the same as living together. I recommend living together at least 2 years. You'll thank me for this advice some day.

well..the worst that could happen is that it turns out it was all too soon, you wasted all that time moneyand effort and youll get a costly annoying divorce. but hell, im all for love and i would mary my man no if he asked me and weve only been together for 5 months...so be it! i love him and it feels right....if it feels right, go for it! as i said it will only end in divorce if meant to be. take your chances ;) if you both want it...it must be true
