I've been watching documentaries on muslim terrorism and I can't understand why, how an educated man can just blow himself up along with innocent people because he has a promise to join X numbers of virgins. Their girls are virgins and they can have as many as they want, so what is the problem? Are they that desparate?

People don't seem to realise that their lives and the times they live in will pass into the dust of history and all their actions will eventually be forgotten. The most we can hope for is that we do no harm and leave a better world for future generations. How pointless of these terrorists to want to be remembered, and for what? For killing and maiming innocent people? If only these Muslim terrorists decided that instead of killing and maiming people to get their point across that they would lead by examples of goodness instead and try to attract people away from other religions and towards Islam simply by portraying Islam as being the tolerant, intelligent and enlightened religion it was once thought of as. I think they would have a lot more success. Look at Buddhism, it doesn't have to kill anyone to make people follow

It is an offence in Islam to commit suicide as it is an offence for Muslim to kill Muslim, yet all good Muslims live a life of prayer in the hope that they will enter Paradise. Yet when Iatolla's, Imam's etc illegally raise the status of suicide bombers to that of Martyrs and promise that they will go to a better place (Paradise) and be revered it stands to reason that extremists will willingly carryout suicide bombings and can't win Gung Ho charges against greater odds.
If you are a good Muslim you will go to Paradise - If you are a Good Christian you will strive to enter Paradise (Heaven), take what you want from documentaries but be sure it is the logic and not what you wish to hear.

Quran speaks in similitudes and men love the idea of having women untouched by men and jinns but the martyrs see a Paradise that holds like "gardens beneath which rivers flow" and of meeting the righteous and escaping the HellFire, which you will not envisage, of course.
Leave martyrdom for those who take the offer from Allah of Paradise for their goods and their persons because you will never understand the Islam of those who are sincerely devoted to Allah.
Documentaries on Islam show only what the producers think and want you to know and never come close to Islam and real Muslims.
You have to experience Islam to understand Islam and that depends solely on Allah accepting you and guiding you into Islam.

People are always pointing out the virgin thing but I believe the reason they are willing to blow up their bodies is that in Islam, you never have a guarantee of going to heaven - your good has to always outweigh your bad so you never have assurance. Except if you are a martyr. Martyrs are guaranteed entrance into heaven - the virgins are just a plus. Plus, think of the lives most foreign muslims have, bleak. Leaving here and going to a glorious heaven has to sound pretty good.

These people are obsessed and indoctrinated into the path of Allah and holy war, if the virgins were not promised they would still continue on the path they are sent and believe paradise awaits in the next life, they should realise that it is here and now and they should not be conned out of it so easily by these people who have no guts to stand in line with them and be counted.

Unfortunately religion is just an insurance policy and one of the best scams ever worked out by man - they pay their religious dues all their life, and then when death comes and they find that there's no heaven you merely returned to the state that you remember before you were born- All religion should be banned and it would be a better world.

I would find that thought somewhat disconcerting. If the man has been blown up into a million pieces, how is he gonna be sure he finds the right ones to out back in place to serve his virgins.

It's not about the virgins per se - remember women are property. It's more about the self importance. What they are doing is kinda arrogant - they are in an arrogant frenzy of egoism - probably a more addictive feeling than any drug.
