I sometimes travel, so I need a reliable and efficient method of feeding my cat besides the pet-sitter.

I think an automated feeder would be a good idea. Just make sure to get one that the dog can't figure out. Or, try installing a cat door into an unused room and keep her food in there. Then, the dog won't be able to get in and she will feel more comfortable eating. Another thing would be maybe she has an allergic reaction to this food, or maybe it upsets her stomach, maybe try getting a new food. I hope that helps!

I just have a Purina gravity feed. It works well when I have to travel. However they are just cats and a big bowl will work just as well. I have no experience with the electric ones with timers. My feeder holdes about 3-5 pounds of dry food. Food is available 24/7.

Just my opinion which you don't want. Cats should not be fed "automatically". If they eat freely all the time all their energies are going into the digestion of food and blood is drawn to the stomach and not available to keep the other body organs healthy.

Feeding dogs once a day and cats twice a day if a much more healthy feeding program for them.

pETSMART/lOCAL PET STORE/AND OR WALMART - LOOK FOR SELF-FEEDING SYSTEMS FOR DOGS. - IT HOLD A LOT OF DRY FOOD - AND THE CATS EAT OUT OF IT JUST FINE. ALSO, USE THE SELF WATER ONE TOO - HOLDS FIVE GALLONS OF FRESH WATER AND THEY ARE AIR TIGHT.
MY LIL GUYS LOVE THEM!
