Wide screen, for every 10 pixels down (vertical) the screen there are 16 pixels across (horizontal). Unusual I admit, but if for a computer screen it does not really matter if the screen is a little bit wider. The total pixel count is what is really important for standard video drivers (e.g. WHXGA is 16:10 but requires 5120×3200 pixels. For television though (especially if hooked up to a digital HDTV tuner) what really matters is that it supports true HDTV resolution not sure the extra width adds much. Total pixel count and which standards are supported are more important than the ratio.

That sounds really oddball. The only HDTV standard is 16:9. I think it is a misprint.
