That depends on what sort of relationship you have. A strong relationship should be based on a strong emotional connection and not sex. If you are having sex, you should be able to be completely honest and understanding with each other. If one of you is uncomfortable having sex, no matter what the reason, then you need to let that out in the open. How can you truly be intimate with someone (ie. have sex) if you can't share with them how you are feeling? And if he does not respect your decision to hold off on sex, then is this really the type of relationship you want?

It is very hard to backtrack and could cause some hurt feelings. All you can do is be honest with yourself and with him. If he is a good guy, he will understand and wait till marriage. If he is a creep, he'll behave like a creep, and you will be better off knowing that now than when it's too late. Just don't compromise yourself. You're the most important person in this equation.

I really think you need to follow your heart on this one, not your religion. There's a reason it was wonderful, and there's a reason you will probably crave that type of intimacy with him from now on. Also, it will be VERY hard for him to accept that after such an incredible experience you don't want to do it anymore. Also, you can't backtrack, only move forward.

So you had sex but now you want to stop having sex? Some relationships will work, some will fail- it really depends on how strong your commitment and communication is with each other is- and how strongly you both feel about your future together
Here's a little advice..anal sex doesn't count as sex...lmao

Why bother backtracking?
It certainly is not immoral to have pre-marital sex.
Why would you want to deprive yourself of something that is so wonderful.
And no you are not going to go to hell if that is what you are thinking.
That is sh*t!
Grow up 40 y.o.

I somehow don't think a marriage license is THAT important. Sex is the unity of two people. If both of you enjoy doing so, married or not, no big deal!

Since you asked, you made a mistake, whether it feels good, or not (which is besides the point). It will damage a relationship as far as marriage is concerned, unless you resolve to stop doing it.

If you are 40 and unmarried, have you considered why? Each community has a community mental health clinic.

Your an adult, if both of you chose to be together intimately and you both enjoyed it, so be it. Enjoy it more. Were the same generation and there's no reason not to enjoy the company of someone you care about.
