The priviledges of a free society allow us to do this. A free society transcends the tenets of any religion and I am happy for this even though I do not agree with disrespecting religions in the manner you describe I am often found disrespectful because I am an atheist. I do not believe in any god, religion, etc. and when I state the reasons why it seems to offend. Since I do not believe in some hokey god I am not subject to anyone offending my beliefs. This is how religion hampers our peace of mind and leads each other into conflict instead of harmony. I feel sorry for people who are brainwashed and ensnared into religion because they were taught at such an early age to believe in such nonsense that they cannot undo the damage it causes to them. Look at you all puffed up because you are offended by some idiot. Doesn't seem religion has brought much peace to you just alot of anxiety.

First - freedom of speech. That's why Yahoo allows it.
Second - What you saw was called humor. A joke. If you can't laugh at yourself or your culture or your beliefs once in awhile - who or what can you laugh at?
I'd hate to go through life being offended by everything I saw that I didn't agree with. I laugh at jokes about White people. I laugh at jokes about the Irish, German, and Italians (of which I'm all three). I laugh at jokes that poke fun of my religious beliefs. Wanna know why? Because it's good to laugh. Just because you laugh doesn't mean you aren't serious about your belief. Whether you guys believe it or not - my guess is Mohammad and God have a sense of humor.
I also know something else. Life is short. Too short to worry about Lego figures having sex, or someone saying having many wives means lots of sex. Let's face it - men who have more wives are likely to get more sex. That includes Mohammad. :)
You have to live your life and squeeze a little joy from it now and again. Don't be so darn serious all the time. You're only making yourself miserable.

If you are going to associate with terrorists, you should grow thicker skin and take a joke for what it is. i've seen many cartoons and other articles running down Christianity in Islamic sites and journals, but have you ever said one word against them? i doubt it1People in the western world are allowed to say what they will, s long as it doesn't hurt someone else. live with it, or get off the internet. because it aint going away!

Why does your computer allow disrespect for religion? Yahoo doesn't produce that content it just is a place where you saw it. You should be as mad at Yahoo as you are at your own monitor. Would you be mad at the postal system if someone mailed you a hateful letter?
Yahoo's job isn't to censor or favor one particular group, which is what you are asking. They only deliver information. Consider this, someone out there thinks its wrong for women to use a computer and would ask Yahoo to ban all women from using Yahoo!Answers because he thinks it's disrespectful of his religion. Why should they refuse him if they didn't refuse you?

so you dont have a problem when the pictures are of the pope, or are laughing at the Buddhist or if theyre a joke at atheist, or if theyre laughing at any religion, you just have a problem if its laughing at Muslims? hmmmmm, so you've not understood that people have their own opinions and like to share them. you dont have to agree with them, you dont have to like them, hey, you dont even have to look at them, but you can do us all a favour and understand the principals of democracy and freedom!
Its people like you that created dictators like Hitler, when you disagree with someones opinion thats fine, when you try to censor a persons opinion then you are a dictator.....

Based on personal experience, only disrespect towards Christianity is permitted on here. Discuss facts about Islam, and you get censored.

I am a Bible Thumper as some call it. I can relate you your dilemma..I get offended when people disrespects my religious beliefs. Although I do not believe in Islamic faith, I don't think it is right for things like this to go on.
Yes I know we live in America and are supposed to have freedom of speech, some things should not be said or shown period. May God look over you and may Jesus Christ bless your heart.
These images on yahoo should be stopped. If you know who posted them then turn them in for abuse.

Yahoo also tried to sell t-shirts that said "I Had An Abortion."
They're offering a lot of free services, which means they can be as disrespectful as they want and we just have to deal with it.

Have you read this book ?
What is your opinion, from the list below, provided by Spencer in his book?
The Truth About Muhammad
by Robert Spencer
Meet the real Muhammad:
Muhammad's bizarre reaction to his first "revelation": "I will go to the top of the mountain and throw myself down that I may kill myself"
The heretical Christian who convinced Muhammad he was a prophet – and may have taught him his erroneous views of Christianity
Islamic borrowings from Judaism, Christianity, and Zoroastrianism – and Muhammad's enraged replies to charges that he borrowed material rather than received actual divine revelations
The "revelation" that allowed Muhammad to marry his beautiful daughter-in-law
The strange incident in Muhammad's life that makes it virtually impossible to prove rape in Islamic countries today
The real "Satanic Verses" incident (not the Salman Rushdie version): how Muhammad's attempt to win over his opponents ended with his saying he had been inspired not by God, but by Satan
How the Qur'an's teaching on warfare against unbelievers developed – with constant war to establish the hegemony of Islamic law as the last stage
The first year of the Muslim calendar: not when Muhammad was born or became a prophet, but when he became a warlord
How Muhammad used the graphic lure of Islamic Paradise to urge his warriors to fight furiously to extend his rule
"Kill every Jew who comes into your power": why Muhammad became so angry with both Jews and Christians – with disastrous consequences that are still playing out in the world today
The momentous command by Muhammad that led to good being identified with anything that benefited the Muslims, and evil with anything that harmed them --without reference to any larger moral standard
Muhammad's child bride – and the terrible consequences his marriage to a nine-year-old still has in the Islamic world
"This is the caravan of the Quraysh possessing wealth. It is likely that Allah may give it to you as booty": how Muhammad gave divine sanction to the Muslims' bloody raids
"War is deceit": the permission Muhammad gave his followers to lie in order to gain an advantage over their enemies
How Muhammad broke the principal treaty he entered into, again setting a pattern for Muslim states thereafter
Muhammad's commands to his followers to wage perpetual war against non-Muslims, including Jews and Christians
Muhammad on women's rights: women "are prisoners with you having no control of their persons"
"If justice is not to be found with me then where will you find it?" Why Muhammad still stands for Muslims as the supreme model for human behavior
"I will expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula, and will not leave any but Muslims" – and other statements by Muhammad that contemporary jihadists take very seriously
Islamic tolerance? The onerous tax burden and other discriminatory regulations mandated for non-Muslims under Islamic law
How Muhammad ordered the killing of apostates from Islam
The massacre of a Jewish tribe by Muhammad that was invoked by modern-day jihadists at the beginning of Israel's July 2006 operations against Hizballah in Lebanon
"Embrace Islam, and your lives and property will be safe": Muhammad's threatening letters to the rulers of the lands around Arabia
Muhammad's frequent avowals that the Muslims would overcome the empires bordering on Arabia and one day stand as masters of the world
"I have been made victorious with terror" – and other statements of Muhammad on his deathbed
Six steps that American leaders can and must take in order to protect our nation from Islamic jihad terrorism
