RE:
what kinds of things are considered bland food? I know it means no taste, but what I'm not entierley sure of
is: Does that mean plain potato? No butter? Popcorn wihtout butter? Do I get jello?
This morn. the Dr told me to eat a bland diet for a few days and I forgot what she said!
what about vegetbables? I can't have tomatoes or OJ that much I remmeber. But eating plain bread will get a old fast.

That would be boiled chicken and plain rice, boiled shrimp, jello, chicken or beef broth, plain bread, non acidic vegetables, and plain pasta. In other words, plain food with no salt or seasoning. I had to go one one of those diets because of an ulcer. It's only a few days, you'll live.

Oatmeal, boullion, mac and cheese come to mind. I think the entire American diet is bland...but what the doc means is nothing too spicy or acidic. No 4-alarm chili, no Szechuan cuisine, no jalapeno peppers. I don't think buttered popcorn would be an issue. Probably better skip the pizza for a few days, though.
