There are tons of catfood that contains things other than chicken. We have the same problem. Read the label, and avoid anything with fowl. Tuna, beef, fish, is just some of the alturnatives. Just read the labels carefully.

There are different types of foods made for cats that are allergic
to chicken. One in particular is from a company called Medical
Hypoallergenic Gastric(dry food). In most cases these foods are sold by vets so I am sure that there are different kinds. This is a common problem with cats so you really should not have a hard time finding the right food .In any case call or consult a vet there really is no need for you to put your cat to sleep if it is something as common as a chicken allergy.

Have you tried pet food made with human grade/organic chicken. It could be the chemicals and preservatives that your cat is allergic too. (Without any sarcasm, how did you come to find out that your cat is allergic to chicken?) Most pet foods use ingredients that are not fit for consumption, period. Full of preservatives and toxins that pets can be allergic to.

Some good cat foods that are dry without the unnatural preservatives and chemicals are: Katz-N-Flocken made by Solid Gold, Chicken - Soup for the Cat Lovers Soul, Wellness, Paul Newman's pet foods, Natural Balance, and more. Another good website on nutritious foods is: http://www.cats.about.com

There are cat foods that are vegetarian too. You can go to the website below for more info on that.

You don't have to put your cat to sleep. There are a variety of dry and canned cat foods out there without chicken in them. I think it's IAM'S that makes this but don't quote me on it......Or it could be All Natural ???? Anyhow, they make a lamb & rice, turkey & rice and others. There are a bunch of new varieties that they have come out with in the past few years. I also think the brand Authority makes some others. Your good brands are Science Diet, IAM'S, Authority,Fancy Feast (somes in dry now). Check them all and good luck ! I'm sure you'll find something that she likes and can tolerate.

Obviously there are foods out there for pets with allergies, do you think your cat is the first in history to have this. It is actually quite common. Yes, there are diets without chicken...lots of animals eat lamb and rice diets that are allergic to other things. Your vet can give you advice on what to feed as well. They mayeven carry a good diet for your cat in their clinic.

I think there are ones made with lamb and rice instead of chicken, also straight fish ones as well. Take a look see around, also you could buy it from your vet, your cat is not alone there are many others out there that are allergic to chicken.

Yes, there are. It's very easy to feed no chicken or chicken by-products with specific canned or raw foods, and that's the best diet for your cat. You can even find unusual meats like venison and rabbit available canned and raw.

Natural Balance makes a venison and pea. I have been finding that at my local pet discount store. Your veterinarian can get you special food that has meat protein other than chicken. I believe formulations are made up with rabbit and duck.

TONS!!! Just go to the pet store, they have MANY different brands for many different special needs. Also, it may cost a little more, but the vet sells specialty foods, as well.
