I completely understand what you're saying. I myself have known all kinds of people in my life and I love them right where they are at.
We don't hate them, we don't like what they are doing. The Lord calls them an abomination, therefore we are to hate "sin" as the Lord hates sin, but never hate the sinner. After all, we all fall short in one way or another and to some, one sin may be trivial as opposed to a "bigger" sin, but sin is sin and Jesus will be the judge, not us.
Leave it up to him hon, don't get worked up over it, let it go and let God deal.
I remember one time when I was at Calvery Chapel in Costa Mesa and Pastor Chuck Smith was saying how funny how people will sit there and condemn someone who uses the Lord's name in vain - yes it's wrong, but follow me here - on the other side of the coin, those same people are out doing all kinds of sinning without realizing ALL sinning is using God's name in vain!
Try telling that to some stubborn Christians.

"In the bible it says homosexuality is wrong, but it also says mixing certain fabrics is an abomination and that if a woman gets raped she has to marry the rapist? Why do Christians carry ancient views on homosexuality into this time but yet leave views on other things in the past?" You're simply never going to find a rational reason of why this happens, from their point of view. It's likely to do with the fact that most Christians don't read the bible, I'd say only an extreme minority have gone from cover to cover, and a little more have skimmed it at best. Mix that disregard of taking their own Religion seriously with what our societies mainstream beliefs are, then you get those people. Ignorance is bliss. Homosexuality will become one of those many things that is ignored in the Bible and accepted, it's really just a matter of when.

Very good question and points.
My take is pretty simple...
Shame to all the Christians who do not LOVINGLY point out the sins they observe. At the same time knowing the sins they themselves commit in order to maintain a gentleness about the discussion. Yes, Christians sin but they do not premeditate sin, it's always a falling into it not a diving.
The "God Hates liars..." part is a little harsh. God hates lying might better. "All liars will have their part in the lake of fire".
I have seen people with those kind of hateful signs.
The Westboro Baptist Church (though I wouldn't call it a church, more like a cult).
Any church that would not allow a homosexual in for services is NOT a Christian church no matter what they say.
The homosexual agenda is threatening the foundation of American families, SO ARE the cheaters and those who lie to their spouse. In California, the homosexual agenda tried to pass legislation to teach the positive contributions of homosexuals, lesbians and transgenders in their schools, ALL GRADES, ALL SUBJECTS, EVERY DAY. Parents would have no power to separate their child from these teachings in the schools either.
With much prayer, Schwartzennegger vetoed it. (spelling?)
My bottom line...
I agree with you in this point,
All Christians should demonstrate that they detest all sins just like they detest homosexuality. It is these very sins, lying, stealing, blasphemy, adultery, dishonor to parents, etc. that nailed Jesus to the cross. WE SHOULD HATE SIN WITH OUR ENTIRE BEING....ALL SIN.
May God bless you for thinking so well of God's economy.

Why do some Christians get so worked up over homosexuality when they have little to say about other sins including all the same behaviors by heterosexuals? Why? I think in some cases such as the with Phelps followers it’s because you have so-called preachers working their people up into a frenzy on the topic. You can reach your own opinion as to why some preachers are so obsessed with this particular topic.
If you read about the days of the witch burnings in Europe you’ll find that they generally happened when priests obsessed with that topic worked the locals up into such a frenzy that they started thinking every poor old woman showing the ravages of age was a witch.
But I disagree that the Bible has much to say on the topic. Far more ink was spent telling us not to lie or gossip or be judgmental.
It’s pretty clear that the Bible references to homosexuality either referred to gang rape of anything that moved in the case of Sodom or of pagan practices/orgies in Paul’s letters.
Whether a person is straight or gay, I have a problem with anybody who uses sex to control or abuse or manipulate another person, or with anyone who treats another person as nothing more than a sex object. I have a problem with a popular culture that sexualizes adolescents and even children.
Sex should be an expression of love. But the same people who would say only within marriage insist that gay people shouldn’t have that right.
It is a sad situation, particularly when families turn on their own and treat them so brutally. But please don’t think that all Christians hate gays. I don’t even believe it is the majority. It’s just that people who are consumed with hate seem to be the most vocal.

i am christain but most importantly above that I love GOD. No matter what religion, Jesus lvoe everyone as do I even "homosexuals". However, not the act itself or the title whcih is given to them but love them as a person. i dont know why you label most christians to "hate homosexualality". It is not about liking it or hating it, it is not God's laws. It is 'unlawful" in the Bible, leviticus 18:22 and in corinthians 1 6:12 and many more places. We didnt make the laws, GOD did and to label "christians as haters is extreme I think. I am sorry there are those who do those rude signs etc...they are the ones who are not true christians. most are not that way.
it is not just a sin like any other sin, the Bible has seperate laws for just this subject.
I love everyone just not the act or principle of it.

Good question. God expects us to be as Christlike as we can after we're saved. He expects us to love the sinner and hate the sin (as He does) Many Christians DO put degrees on type of sin. However, in God's eyes ALL sins are the same, whether it be a white lie, murder, homosexuality, stealing and so on. Maybe it's because homosexuals are demanding equal rights for their choice of lifestyle. We as Christians ought to be as compassionate as Jesus was and pray for the lost and help their fellow man.

God's Word didn't just call homosexuality a sin, He called it an ABOMINATION.
Hate the sin, love the sinner, you are deliberately contorting that.
God's Word says there IS one sin greater than all others, so you just proved you don't know God's Word.
Just because people commit other sins, does not make homosexuality any less of a sin in the eyes of God.
And Christians are to obey God's Word and reject sin, and that includes homosexuality, the sin.
As I said, hate the sin, love the sinner.
Go on and on all you want, you are just another anti-Christian bigot.

Choose any sin, and if the masses were trying to rationalize it and shove it down our throats we would object strongly. We are called intolerate, hate-mongers because we speak out for the truth. People say gays are born gay, that God made them that way. That homosexuality an acceptable, sensible, stylish life choice. The Bible is clear. God hates the sin of homosexuality. God loves the sinner, but hates the sin. We speak louder on this to try to correct the volume of error projected by the world.

I'm a Christian and I don't hate anyone, but I do hate the sin
of homosexuality (and according to the Bible, so does God).
It is just apalling what they do and they will do it at the YMCA,
bath houses, in the city park, as it just doesn't seem to matter
to them. Look at the homosexual parades. It is really
disgusting. Why do I have to even know their sexual preference?
I don't behave that way in public with my husband. They all seem
to flaunt their sin. And like Foley, they put the make on little boys
and that just adds to their sin. Those others you mentioned that
cheat on their spouse, lie, curse the Lord, fornicate, will also be
judged (not by me) but by God. God has already told us in His
Word what is right and what is wrong, so we already know, but
; will leave the punishment for the Lord to take care of.
