Instead of wasting time here on YA! Why don't all of you BushCo supporters go and join the military. If you want to support the troops, go over there and stand next to them on the battle front. If you are too old for service and have children, force them to go and fight for BushCo's greed. Honestly, I am tired of hearing all this support the troops, support Bush, we need to be in Iraq, this war is good for America. If you honestly believe all that, then actions speak louder than words, join the Army, they need you. I proudly served 6 yrs in the US Navy, part of which was during Desert Storm. I also have 7 family members that have either been in Iraq, or are currently there. So don't even try to tell me that I don't support the troops. I wholeheartedly support the troops, I don't support BushCo's lust for power and money! So go join the service, I bet you won't! At least I, as a "weak liberal", was not afraid to put my life on the line for my country!

My family that is in the military agrees with me as well. In fact, even when I was in, the majority in the military were Liberal. Everyone that I know who is currently in is Liberal, with few exception. The military is about as evenly split as everywhere else, that is a MYTH that the military is a conservative majority.

I AM serving. I think that you have a warped sense of what's going on but, I won't make this political. I'll just say that you can't stop what's already started, you can't change history. However, if we leave now, it'd be a grave mistake for OUR country. So, quit your whimpering about Bush and realize that instead of opposing him, i'll make a challenge to you. You ask the people that say support the troops or disagree with you to join the service? Here's MY request to you then why don't YOU become a congressman and be part of the process to make decisions to help us finish this thing instead of sitting on your soapbox like a blithering idiot?

As an ex-soldier and Bush Supporter I agree with some of what you are saying but you forgot that if George's dad would have been allowed to remove Saddam from power after Desert Storm then none of this would have happened. Remember, after Desert Storm, a defeated Saddam decided that he would take revenge on unsuspecting Shiites in the south and Kurds in the north. He had used chemical and biological weapons to exterminate the Kurds because they were fighting for independence. Also, prior to Desert Storm have you forgotten about the Iran-Iraq War where Saddam killed thousands of Iranian soldiers with Mustard gas. So don't tell me he was not capable of using weapons of mass destruction on large, civilian and military populations.
As far as people supporting the soldiers I think hands down we all support our troops regardless of political affiliation. A majority of Americans have either worn the uniform or had someone they loved wear an armed forces uniform at one time. You don't have to support Bush to support the soldiers.

Been there done that, bought the T-shirt.

My Dad served, my son is about to sign up.

All conservatives. All I ever knew in the military were conservatives.

When Carter was President, we had to cannibalize some vehicles to keep others running, because there wasn't enough of a budget to buy parts.

When we went to the field, we had no blanks to simulate fire, so we acted like kids playing "Army" and said "Bang!"

When President Reagan was elected, I received an 11% pay raise. All of a sudden, we had realistic budgets, and spare parts, ammo, everything.

Now, I ask you, who would want to be a liberal in the military? People know who butters the bread there, and it ain't the latte drinkin', Birkenstock wearin', long hairs from Seattle and San Francisco, nor the blue blood, "not in my back yard" north-easterners either.

I don't know how to respond to what you said here. You certainly aren't wrong, even GWB is finally taking a fresh look at what's going on in Iraq, hell all he had to do was ask me, instead he goes to the geriatric for information, or advice. That sure hasn't gotten him anywhere.

Six months ago, I had it figuered out that Iran was running the show and the insurgency. Their orders were to make the Americans feel needed so they won't leave, but keep them busy. That's exactly what they've done, and like lemmings we fell for it hook, line and sinker. They don't want us to leave because it would free up all those GI's for more important work, like going after Iran or N.Korea.

This thing is looking more and more like a Vietnam type dead end. It would be a hard thing to swallow if that were to happen, yet, it's time they either divided the country into three, or the new government got it's sh it together and took over, once and for all.

As long as GWB and Rumsfeld continue to walk that tight line and let scum like Sadr and his ilk keep screwing the US around, the US will never gain any respect. Rumsfeld let this one slip through his fingers with many bad decisions, it's certainly time for someone new in that job, whether we stay or go in Iraq.

Forgive me if I don't thank you for your service, you seem to have done enough of that for everyone. Unless you were a Navy Seal or Hospital Corpsman, I haven't known too many sailors that put their lives on the line, in the last thirty years. Except, of course, those unfortunate souls on the USS Cole.
A former Marine.

I did, I served 21 years. I have no children but if I did, they would never be allowed to leave and run to Canada as a coward.
They could bet they would forever be disowned.

Get off your whinny *** soap box....

So you served 6 years in the Navy....pretty cushy....sounds like your feeling guilty for not eating and sleeping living in dirt.

You want a medal for serving....its everyone's duty as an American to serve their country... If anyone is not ready to defend
this country with their very own life....

PLEASE LEAVE....If you cannot defend your own country we dont need you...probably means you'd stand by and watch your wife and daughters get raped....wouldnt want to upset the rapist.

How can you be so unAmerican, have you forgotten what you saw around the world....do you dare claim the world is better than our own country.

You liberals make me puke.....gee did you complain about Clinton bombing from 30,000 feet...nope....I bet you voted for Jimmy Carter....yeah he's another winner.....

not enough people give thanks and credit to those who have served...my husband was 8 years in the navy, and now 2 in the coast guard and continuing until he feels ready to leave...i was enlisted in the navy also...

i do think that more people need to "put their money where their mouth is" and shut up and join if they feel as if there needs to be more troops and so on

i wish that more people could stand up and join..i think they there are afraid of the committment required and the possibility of going to war...my father, my brother, my 4 uncles and aunt all have served in the military...whether it be during the korean war, vietnam or desert storm...good for them!!!!

i dont believe in very much of what the government is trying to accomplish right now..just doest seem to make sense and is a waste of money...

thank you for serving our country, along with all the other fellow veterans checking out this board

I'm an Air Force Veteran as is one of my sisters, another sister retired Air Force, My niece is serving now. The military is well over 78% conservative so you can just shut up. We are doing more than our share, but the military as in civilian life, the conservatives have to pull the weight of the dead beat liberals.

Conservatives have as much right to waste time as you liberals.
I served for 24 years and proud of every minute of it. My son is in now and my brother is in Iraq as we speak serving this country that provides you this forum in which you are free to speak your mind.

By the way, I'm free to voice my opinions as well, so in my humble opinion, YOU'RE A MORON!
