Kids bully other kids for no reason because they themselves are in pain. They are troubled at home or inside because of what is going on at home or around them. They have no self confidence and want to make people feel as small as they are feeling on the inside. Whatever is going on in their lives has made them bitter, angry and hurt and the only way they can vent those negative emotions is to transfer them to someone else. Usually someone smaller than themselves. Bullies need to know that they will have to vent their pain and anger somewhere else. Parents should talk to school officials and set up a program of No Tolerance for bullies. There are different types of bullying. Emotional and physical. Make sure that you discuss both types with school officials. Ask them what are they going to do about the problem and make them give you an answer. You are your child's strongest advocate. Don't let them down by telling them that it will be okay. It will not be okay. Some bullies have lead to children committing suicide. It is a very serious problem. Treat it as such. I wish you the best when dealing with this situation. :)

Bullies ! Bullies ! Bullies!

How I HATED the bullies!

My dad is a bully, so that didn't help, but I did learn how to deal with them. You need to understand that this is a part of life - bullies are EVERYWHERE. But what's funny is this:

When they grow up; when they finally mature, guess what? They DON'T REMEMBER that they did bullying. They did not know that they hurt people. Is that not something else? I've seen television shows of people who confront the bullies some 10, 20 yrs later, and the bully was totally CLUELESS that they created such pain in another student; in fact, one show I watched had the bully as not even REMEMBERING the person at all!

And of course, I've attended reunions, and most of the bullies have had rough lives, unhappy, looking years older than they should, so now I feel sorry for them.

You need to know that you will probably face alot of people like that, some to be mean, some are just ignorant of what they are doing. You may learn to focus on having empathy for others, and show people who have afflictions that they can be loved, too. There are kids who are crippled, blind, deaf, health problems of all kinds that are also picked on. It's unfair, but it is life. You can learn to be sympathetic and develop a deeper understanding of peoples feelings, so that maybe, when you're a working adult, you can be a counselor, nurse, doctor, physical therapist, or some other occupation that will help you feel like you are loved by giving of yourself to others.

Bullies are miserable people.
Ignore them.

INTOLERANCE.....people tend to be intolerant of those who are different from themselves, because they are afraid of what they don't understand.Children learn intolerance from their parents, therefore they think that name calling and bullying is an acceptable way to treat others, If children were taught to be accepting of other peoples differences and even to celebrate them, wouldn't the world be a much better place for us all.
