How is that abuse? idiot!! I think thats sick what you are implying and I am going to report you for abuse!
Anyway to make it clear I want to breed him with another female dachshund! Thank you to all with your sensible answers - I didn't realise it was so long.

There's already a lot more dogs than suitable homes. Why do you intend breeding from him?

Is he show quality? Has he won any titles? If not then you won't be bettering the breed and he shouldn't be siring any puppies.

You don't seem like a bad person, but as things look from here (you don't seem to know much about the subject), you'd just be another one of the "backyard breeders" responsible for so many healthy dogs being needlessly destroyed.

Please get him neutered.

At the age of 2-3 is when ]the male will be mature enough to breed. However, it is best for the male to be bred at age 3.

Why don't you find out if there are any HEALTH CLEARANCES required for that breed so you will at least not be adding that to future puppies.

When he has a CH title behind his name and when he has an OFA hip rating. Not done until they are two years old.
