The bottom of almost every plastic pop bottle that I've seen have the famous "five nipple" design. Does this serve a purpose?

its so that little bit of drink stays in the bottom and wets you through when you are finishing your drink -

it also helps the bottle stand up!!!

To steady the bottle, a base
To have some formation to get the plastic bottle out of the mold

yea it does surve a purpose ...is it to hold the pop bottle up from falling ...their is five nipples because those nipples make it to were it wont fall over on eather side of the bottle...duh its simple if you look hard enough gosh

you won't be a "pig" yet eating at present from a jug or carton is unsanitary. it is going to pass on any germs you may desire to different people who pour the liquid from a similar field.

It has to do with the machine that spins the tops on. That is where it is gripped.

to keep the condensation from forming a suction at the bottom, forcing it to stick to the table. haha yeah i dunno.
