I was just on msn and my ex boyfriend just said hi to me after 4 months of no contact. He was really nosy and wanted to see what I was up to. He especially wanted to know what I wanted to do after I graduate from university. We both go to the same university although I'm an undergrad and he's already in grad school. Neways, we only dated for one month in January, he ended it saying he was "busy". Also, it was a very innocent relationship, only kissing cuz he knew I wanted to save sex for marriage. After he ended it, he would still say hi to me on msn but then he eventually stopped doing that. Then today he said hi to me on msn and I was really shocked! Is he curious?, and is it nothing or does he still like me and miss me? We talked very short and I ended it saying I had to go.
I know I already asked this, but WHY is my ex still curious, & WHY is he trying to be nice and why is he trying to be friends with me, if that is what he is trying to do?

The thing is, he wasn't too busy when he broke up with you. Anyone that says that is saying, "I like women. I'm just too busy to get laid right now." No man will ever say that and mean it. He had another reason. Chances are, because he knew he wasn't gonna get laid. And when that happens men tend to think of whoever the girl was and say to themselves "She was cute. I probably should have stuck around. I'm pretty sure I could have hit that if I tried a little harder." And then we get back in contact and remember why we couldn't and then we're gone. Sometimes, we repeat this process with the same female several times.

No one but him knows and you didn't ask him.

Best guess: He was feeling low and remembered you fondly, or he had time on his hands and was curious, or he feels bad about not talking to you and wanted to try again. I do notice that you say HE would say "Hi" but then stopped. You don't say that YOU ever said "Hi." Maybe he feels like you blew him off and he doesn't know why so he was giving you "one last chance" to treat him like a friend.

Why don't you ask him?

How many times are you going to ask this and overanalyze it?

He probably contacted you because he's having a low moment in his life and needed a pick me up and used you to boost his ego.
