Do not open the gallon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Put the milk in a deep freezer. When you decide to thaw it leave it in the refrigerator and do not open it until it is completely unthawed. That way you will still have your whole gallon of milk tasting like milk and not watered down when you are at the end.

Allow room for expansion. I'd take about 1/4 of it out of the plastic carton. So you'll have to keep soem spare gallon jugs around.
