The iv was put in and removed ok. about a week later my hand started swelling. now my top of my hand and my vein is hard. the dr office said not to worry about it. it hurts to touch it.

I had the same thing happen to me. it took a long time to go back to normal. It's swollen and the fluid makes it feel hard. apply ice pack for 10 min every so often but never ice directly on the skin. wrap in towel. It might help with the swelling.
signs of an infection are if it gets real hot to the touch and reddness of the skin. (it will be red after the ice lol) Watch for that. other wise just wait it out and try not to bump it.

scarring and bruising of the blood vessel the IV was in. Shouldn't be a problem unless it won't go away. A lot of times, when the damage is deep, it takes a few days for it to show, but will ease just as a surface bruise will.

that can be normal after an IV, just put ice on it for now and take some advil or ibuprofen. the inflammation will go away.

Probly went sub q and had fluid under the skin it will get better healing takes time!

Try a heating pad or hot water bottle.

It probably just a bruise, a hematoma! It should go away!

its ok...i had an iv too and th same happened. it goes away :D
