Since Nicklaus stopped competing, I haven't really settled on a favourite. Tiger is obviously the best, but I don't really consider him my favourite, although he is to be admired.
If pushed, I'd go for Jose Maria Olazabal. I just hope he can win a 3rd Major and join that elite list which separates the great, from the good.

To me, golf is the kind of sport where I find it hard to root against anyone. There are those who are on the Tiger Woods bandwagon and will root against Lefty Mickelson and vice versa... even Rick Riley wrote an article about that a few issues ago in Sports Illustrated: "Are you a Tiger guy or a Phil guy?" (or something like that). That said, both Tiger and Lefty are amongst my faves, along with David Duval, Sergio, Ben Crane, Ernie, Fred Funk, Jim Furyk, Monty, Retief, and Chris DiMarco...
