A 748 credit score is very good. The highest you can have is 850. I work in the mortgage business. I've only seen a score over 800 once.

748 is very good the highest is 850. You will rarely find anyone with an 850 credit rating, very very seldom. I work in a financing office and finding any thing 820 is very hard. My company with give you a loan with no problems at all and you would get a low APR% with a 748 credit score.

The median FICO score is 723. That means 50% of FICO scores are above 723 and 50% are below. That makes 748 good. 850 is the top end of the scale.

Any thing over a 720 is considered excellent. I pull credit every day and have never pulled a 850. The highest I have ever pulled was a 815. The national average is a 660.

There are different types of scoring models depending on the reason for the credit inquiry. For instance, a credit inquiry for a home loan goes through a different scoring model (software) than an inquiry for purchasing a car. It's score factors target different information. There is also what is called a consumer credit score. It generally has the highest of all scores because it's target factors are different and less punitive for lates, past dues, etc. I have seen an 850, but only one in 13yrs.
