I figured why she broke up with her fiancé (who was an a*sehole) but expected her to be honest enough that she was seeing someone else. Instead she chose to be economic with the truth. I think I should not bother any more and save myself the trouble.

Sorry this is a question intended to draw reactions from people without asking about the circumstances.... Sorry for anyone preparing a genuine answer.

well maybe she feels she has to sort this out in her own head before she can tell her friends about this, I suspect that she will tell you in her own time when she really wants you to know.
If you are a friend give her the time that she needs.
By the sounds of it she has been through it a bit with the break up and everything and maybe she just need the time to accept what has happened in her life before she is able to explain this to others.
Don't give up on her, be a friend and be there for her.

I appreciate this may be a hypothetical question:

people dont always want to share their emotions with other people, even close friends. that is their right
On the other hand, they may want support in other areas.
either you can accept that, in a friendly supportive way, or you can pester them for details which they may not want to share...in that case, you risk losing their friendship.

And she owes you what exactly?

With an attitude like that no wonder she didn't confide in you.

I have no doubt she has better friends than you to confide in so throwing your dummy out of the pram is no loss to her.

It's really not your business who your friend is seeing if anyone. If she wants to share she will when she's ready. You're not much of a friend trying to push her to tell you her personal business.

Yeah, because if she didn't trust you enough to tell you the truth, she is not worth your time.

Back off and respect her privacy. When she's ready to tell you anything, she will.
