I had my nose pierced last night, it was done with a needle by a reputable piercer. I have a small stud in it. It is only slightly tender when I move my nose but my concern is that there seems to be constant dried blood around the stud. It started after I had it pierced and is still happening now (12 hours later). I clean the dried blood off and then about 30 minutes after, it appears again. Not only does it not look good but I am worried whether this is a normal reaction. I am cleaning it with a sea salt and water mix once a day and then with plain warm water whenever I notice the dried blood. Did this happen to anyone else? How long will it last and is it normal. Also there is slight redness and swelling but I am presuming this is normal given the fact that I only had it done last night. Can anyone help?

This is normal. It just depends on each person. You can do some chamomile compresses - brew a cup of chamomile tea and hold the warm tea bag against your piercing. These should help calm it down. Just keep doing your soaks for 5-10 minutes. It takes about 8-10 week to heal.

For me was couple of days for it to be red and sore.

I had my nose pierced 18 years ago, I'm now 34 years old and I still wear the rings ( I have 2,same side of course) If I can recall, my nose had dried blood and crusts around it for about a week or so and it WAS VERY TENDER AND SORE! I cleaned mine with warm water as well as peroxide every day, Believe me it will go away, 'cause mine are just fine--18 years later. GOOD LUCK!

Go back to the place that pierced it and have them check it out it might seem as a small problem now but that could turn into a real problem latter!!!!!!!
