Apparently God works in mysterious ways. Some might say that God may or may not answer prayers, maybe performs miracles occassionally, pops up once in a while in places.

Reportedly the devil is constantly on the move, doing things, plotting, scheming, etc. Kind of pro-active sounding really.

Many of you may have been brought up with the "work ethic" drilled into you as a godly characteristic. But what of the devil? does he not sound to be working incredibly hard to undo God's creation.

Is Satan in fact more industrious and ambitious than God, and what implications does this have?

What an excellent question and unique too, never heard one like this before.

I have to agree, I would hire Satan before god, he seems to have a great work ethic and more importantly -- look at the results !

It's all about results, right?

Most of the world throughout most of history has followed the devil. Believers always say they are in the minority, look at the flood. Satan had everybody but 8 people following him. Another year or two and he has everybody. Believers admit that Satan is in charge of this world.

He does good work.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Let's see, God sends his son to take on the burden of mankind's sins if they will believe unto him. Apparently not many people were getting into Heaven before this of their own accord. Hard to build an army if you keep turning away the recruits.

Satan doesn't have to do anything, haven't you heard the saying about idle hands? One doesn't have to do something to get into Hell, just to get into Heaven. God's people work harder, that's why there are so many churches and places of worship for God, and why Jesus's image keeps showing up on corn chips and in water stains. God is everywhere.

Satan can only "work" on things that God have already created, blessed, and finished working on. Examples are Adam and Eve, Job, and Christ. God had already created them, given them purpose, blessed them, and put them in action. Satan tried hard to turn Christ and Job, but did not succeed. And with Adam and Eve, the only thing satan did was secure his own destruction. On top of that, Satan only has power to do what God allows.

....... O.K. THE ''STORY'' GOES LIKE THIS ,, THE DEVIL TOLD GOD THAT HE WAS GOING TO TURN ALL OF HIS PEOPLE AGAINST HIM... SO THEN THERE FOR HE WORKS CONSTANTLY ,, TO SPREAD EVIL AND HATE ,, FILL PEOPLES HEART WITH PAIN , AND OTHERS MINDS WITH DOUBT,,,, TO WIN THIS BATTLE.... BECAUSE THERE ARE STILL SO MANY GOOD PEOPLE IN THE WORLD ,, AND GOOD WILL ALWAYS WIN OVER EVIL ,, THE DEVIL MUST WORK EXTRA HARD TO TRY TO WIN HIS BATTLE... AND ON,,AND ON,, THAT" S THE WAY THE STORY GOES...

The reports you heard are wrong. Most of the time, Satan doesn't have to do a thing, we do it to ourselves.
